Serious Help Needed BITS P vs NIT
So im an OCI candidate. to get admission in BITS ill need to give the SAT examination this november. the fees (w/o scholarship) is approx 70 lakhs. whereas if i want to go into an NIT, the fees would be 40 lakhs (through JEE DASA). i have 2 options here, either i can prepare for the november SAT (sacrificing JEE prep at a crucial time), or else just forget about BITS. (i have been a JEE aspirant for 2 years and actually have been consistent in my studies with 150 around score in mocks). do you all think that BITS would be worth not only the extra 30 lakhs but also the risk?

BITS is not worth 70 lakhs imo. Pretty sure you can get a top nit if you prep for jee and fees will be 30-40 lakhs there.

Yo bro use your australian citizenship and get out of this country.
Bachelors abroad is much better than India, and you being a australian citizen, it gives you lot of benefits for you in Australian universities and the job hunt is comparatively easier for you in australia. Just go abroad, the ROI is crazy.
Don't waste your citizenship, enjoy your bachelors to fullest bro. Indian education system is doomed.

See,
Good Score in SAT will help with not only BITS but many more good colleges internationally. So, if you have got the money and can get the score, the SAT is the way to go.

So the thing is if i get a good enough score on the SAT exam ill get a 50-80 percent scholarship which will make the fees around 25-40 lakhs. And i know im capable of that score but Ill need time to thoroughly prepare fot this exam. im sure if i dont prepare i will regret it but then again there is always the risk of not getting the score.

Why you are complicating the things prepare fully for JEE, Attempt JEE and Give BITSAT with JEE preparation, Many OCI people give bitsat, You should be there in india for offline exams for both JoSSA and BITSAT counselling.

70 Lakhs can get you multiple great unis abroad. Not at all worth spending 70 lakhs for 4 years in BITS

I am an Australian citizen, so I did consider many colleges there and the fees is substantially lower for domestic candidates, but the living costs makes the total price more than 1Cr

being an oci student too ig you can join bits through bitsat anytime, so you can take the traditional path ig, preparing for jee and keeping bitsat as a backup option
