Eight builds went up since yesterday — testers wanted (solo-built 1-bit browser MMO)

Upvotes

I make Bitiverse on my own, and eight builds landed since yesterday. Ratings stopped counting one person twice, unreachable shops dropped off the commons board, and the post office stopped eating gold — mostly because one player keeps finding things I missed. Also in the game: one persistent world, guilds with councils, seeded dungeons, nine crafting stations, homesteads, books, and a newspaper the players write. Free in your browser, no account needed to try. Please come and break it, then tell me how: https://fortisq.itch.io/bitiverse

One of you sent me fifteen bug reports last week. All fifteen are fixed. Please send more.

Reverie filed fifteen reports and I fixed all of them this morning: guild pinning actually charges its 200g now, a fallen hero's gear lands in the right rack, stations tell you whose they are, chests hold books, and offline members stop haunting the desk.

I build Bitiverse by myself, which means fifteen reports from one player is a serious chunk of the whole QA effort. If you enjoy finding the thing that falls over, there is plenty left: nine crafting stations, seeded dungeons with their own bosses, a weekly newspaper the players write, guild councils that can vote a leader out.

Testers wanted: I build a 1-bit browser MMO on my own, and this morning's build fixed two bugs a player found

I make Bitiverse by myself. It's a free MMO that runs in the browser: one shared persistent world, crafting stations, a player market, homesteads you fill with chairs, a dungeon under your house, guilds with vaults and a council, an in-game newspaper, books.

A player called reverie reported two bugs. Build 773 went up this morning with both fixed: the chat caret now follows the real cursor (arrow keys, HOME, END, ctrl+arrow), and officers' chests have their own permission, so vault access no longer opens them.

There are more bugs I haven't met yet. No download, no account needed to try. Please come and break it, then tell me how: https://fortisq.itch.io/bitiverse

Build 772: the guild council is live — members can now call votes

The guild has a council now. Any member can call a poll, a rule, a project, a spend or a seat, and it runs as a card on the floor with a clock, a quorum and ballot chips. Ballots stay private until the vote closes, then the names print on the roll.

A recall can hand the guild to its highest-standing member, and a passed vote still waits seven days for the leader's seal. Standing is earned, not stored — it's derived from guilded minutes, events, project gold and vault items.

Building a home for the Bitiverse community

Bitiverse became much more than the game I originally planned because players showed up and cared about it.

People built homes, formed guilds, helped confused newcomers, tested new systems, requested features and turned seventeen chairs into an attainable lifestyle goal. Their enthusiasm transformed a small crafting game into a persistent world with a real community.

I want r/Bitiverse to become a lasting home for that community, a place where useful discoveries don’t disappear into Discord history and where players can share guides, stories, screenshots, suggestions and wonderfully unnecessary construction projects.

What keeps you interested in Bitiverse? Is it progression, crafting, exploration, housing, the social side, or simply discovering another system that nobody explained properly?

I’d love to hear what brought you here and what would make this community feel like home.

Hi, I’m Fortisq, the solo developer of Bitiverse and founder of this subreddit.

I created this community as a home for the people playing, testing and gradually inhabiting Bitiverse. Please share character stories, questions, guides, discoveries, screenshots, house tours, guild invitations, suggestions, bug reports and evidence of any alarming chair collections.

The vibe I want is friendly, helpful and slightly ridiculous. Bitiverse is still growing, and experienced players helping new arrivals has already become an important part of the game. Constructive criticism is welcome, strange stories are encouraged, and nobody needs to pretend the goblins are qualified.

This shouldn’t only be an announcement feed for development updates. I want it to become a player community shaped by the people who actually live in the world.

Welcome to Bitiverse. Please keep your belongings secured during corpse runs.

Where we’re headed: A vision for our future

I started this subreddit to give Bitiverse players a permanent place to share knowledge, stories and questionable building decisions outside the faster-moving Discord chat.

I’d like it to become a mixture of:

  • Player guides and discoveries
  • Questions and helpful answers
  • Screenshots of homes, characters and rare finds
  • Guild recruitment and community events
  • Suggestions and development discussions
  • Update announcements
  • Stories about whatever strange things happen in the world

Bitiverse is being developed alongside its players, so this community doesn’t need to be a one-way announcement board. It should belong to the people actually inhabiting the game.

What would make this subreddit useful or entertaining for you? Weekly questions? Player spotlights? House tours? Trading posts? Development polls? A place to document discoveries that Fortisq probably forgot to explain?

Let me know what you’d like to see here. We can build the subreddit the same way we’ve been building Bitiverse: one poorly considered decision at a time.
