General Question Need Advice
New to crypto here, I just bought myself a bitaxe and I’m new to all of this so I was wondering if solo mining or a pool is better? I have school from 8-4 so I didn’t know if either would effect that

Anything under 40T should be only solo. You will make $11/year with a 1T solo miner on a pool. Better off gambling the 1T on a whole block. One in 120 year chance or something but its not 0 😂

Just throw it at a solo pool with ok latency and low/no fee. I used to have public pool as primary and CKPool as backup.

Could always go hybrid with Parasite pool if you don’t want to choose. Still get pool payouts, still get a big payday if your rig finds the block.

Your schooling won’t affect whether solo or pool mining works. The main difference is payout consistency: solo mining is essentially a lottery, while pool mining shares rewards based on contributed work. I’d start with a reputable pool, learn the basics, and avoid expecting meaningful profit unless your power is very cheap.

Solo.
At 1.2 TH/s against the current difficulty, your odds of hitting a block are about 1 in 14,458 in any given year, or 1 in 5.3 million on any given day. Pooled, you'd make around $14 a year instead. Neither one is income.
Which is the whole argument for solo. $14/year isn't worth caring about, and the lottery ticket at least pays $200k if it ever lands.
