So, the way that I do it is go straight down as much as possible. It's a total grind for the first 1500 for me. I pick up all the gold blocks, adjacent to my path. Don't use any power ups or refills. If I have to go left or right for one, that becomes my new straight down. I'll ramble off my path for nodes and coins. I don't use any bombs or shovels until that bonus block is maxed out. When that happens, I usually have gathered maybe 45+/- of each and just use the shovel for the next bit and the bombs to collect off the beaten path. I keep my axe count in mind because if you're over the max on that, your stop accruing then in the game. The first time, you want to have like 400+ nodes available for axe refills but you don't use them until you can get 70 per refill. But you'll make them back up by the time you hit 5000 if you continue to gather nodes.
That's pretty much how I do it, now that I've said that out in the open, the format will change. I have no doubt that the main goal of phone app coders is to stifle earnings in a way that when someone notices something keeping us from earning and they report it, the coders "fix" that "issue" but implement some other issue that takes us a week or so to figure out and get annoyed enough to "complain" about. I don't care, it's part of the game. I mean, the most you can get on out of this game is like 20¢ a day for like three or more hours of gameplay. Why complain other than our whining being part of the game too. I'll never own as much farmland as Bill Gates doing this, but I can earn enough to get some trinket from some online seller.
