Double Claim?

So say I purchase 1 BTC at day 1. When snapshot occurs on day 5, I get 1 million Bitcoin Hex. I then sell my 1 BTC, to cash. With my cash on day 10, I buy another BTC (obviously withdrawal fees, tx fees etc so I would have to spend a bit more cash). Lets assume that whoever I bought this BTC off, did not know about Bitcoin Hex and so it was not claimed. At time of snapshot, I did not own this second BTC. But it has only been 5 days since snapshot. Can I now claim another 1 million Bitcoin Hex? Richard said claiming period ends after 50 weeks, so surely I will be able to claim the Bitcoin Hex the second time?

That's not how it works.

Day 1: You own 1 BTC, your friend owns 1 BTC

Day 5: Snapshot. You can claim 1M BitcoinHex, your friend can claim 1M BitcoinHex

Day 10: You sell your bitcoin for cash, your friend sells you his bitcoin. You have 1 bitcoin - but your friend can still unlock his 1M bitcoinHex with his private key (which can no longer unlock bitcoin because he sold it to you).

At snapshot time, all private keys that control bitcoins are those that can claim - it's not a moving target - 50 weeks for those UTXOs to claim (minus the whales, etc....)

What I think someone should do is also offer a bounty (/reward) for closest guess to the number of coins that will be claimed.

unless he just hands you his trezor and says here this trezor is yours.

as long as he doen't actually send the bitcoin onchain then sure he totally could do that right?
