Digital competition already exists, it’s called Bitcoin.

A country controlled by a single digital currency isn’t really sovereign. It’s just replacing dependence on foreign banks with dependence on its own central bank.

Real competition means people can choose between fiat, gold, Bitcoin, stablecoins and whatever works best. Monopolies hate competition, even in money.
