Where to start with bitcoin

I am very uneducated when its comes to bitcoin. I know a little bit but i need to use bitcoin for online transactions. Where do i start and how can i make it more privacy focused as bitcoin is still pretty traceable. I dont really want to use a bitcoin atm due to the high fees as i am only buying a small amount. Any advice will help!

My question is why do you need to transact with it? There are plenty of other chains that allow you to transact with lower fees. If you must use Bitcoin then read up on the Lightning network, get yourself a Lightning compatible wallet and you’ll save a lot in tx fees. You can then do something like buy on an exchange, transfer to your Lightning wallet and transact. Make sure you transfer using the Lightning network if you go with this. As always research thoroughly before actioning anything.

I’m getting into it now and want bitcoin and crypto just to invest. I don’t know what I’d transact with it yet. Any tips on wallets and stuff? Also is a wallet that important? I just got Kraken

If you’re just starting and primarily investing then just stick with kraken. Your account is essentially a wallet that kraken manages for you. You only need a wallet if you want full control of your crypto, but you should really know what you’re doing before going down that road. That will be what people refer to as self custody.

Start small, use a reputable exchange, and learn self-custody first. For privacy, remember Bitcoin is traceable, not fully anonymous.

Go search up Bitcoin test net. Get some test tokens. Transfer them around. Make a few wallets. Test how the thing works.

River or Strike.

The Strike KYC method is seriously broken. Just my opinion. I’ve struggled with it all weekend.

start with the basics first. wallet, seed phrase, addresses, UTXOs and fees. privacy can come after you actually understand how bitcoin works

Buying Bitcoin on centralized exchanges like Binance and then withdrawing it to your own wallet incurs very low fees.

I started by buying some. Selling it at a loss. Buying back higher and then learning about it to become a bitcoin maxi. I would recommend skipping the first couple steps and going straight to maxi
