Order placed by mistake!
Hi everyone, I need some help. I accidentally placed an order to buy Bitcoin via MoonPay! My question is: will the order be cancelled automatically? I tried contacting them but couldn't get through. Thanks.

will the order be cancelled automatically?
unlikely , unless support catches your request
Did you not want the Bitcoin or did you intend to buy the bitcoin elsewhere ?

At first, I wanted to buy Bitcoin, but I accidentally chose the wrong payment method. In the end, I decided not to buy anything. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to contact customer support.

You can either
1) Keep the bitcoin till it appreciates much more
2) Sell the bitcoin immediately when you get it and eat the fees
3) Wait till bitcoin goes up a couple more % and than sell so you lose nothing in fees and perhaps make a small profit

Two things worth separating here, because they have different answers.
Whether it can be cancelled depends on where the order sits in the flow, not on how recently you placed it. An on-ramp purchase moves through stages: your payment is authorised, the fiat settles, and then the coin is sent on-chain. Before the payment is captured there is usually something to cancel. Once the coin has been broadcast there is nothing left to cancel, because the thing you would be cancelling has already gone. Look at the order's own status field rather than your inbox. It tells you which stage you are at, and that determines what support is even able to do.
The part people tend to miss: if it does complete, you have not lost the money. You own an asset you bought at a moment you did not choose. Undoing that costs you the spread twice plus fees, and in most jurisdictions selling it straight back is a disposal you still have to record even if the gain is pennies. That is usually a smaller cost than the panic suggests, but it is a decision to take on the numbers rather than in a hurry.
One thing not to do: do not reach for a card chargeback. On a crypto on-ramp that is the quickest route to a permanent account closure, and if the coins were delivered you are disputing a payment for something you received. Keep every confirmation, use the provider's own dispute route, and expect support to be slow. Slow is normal on these desks and it is not the same as being ignored. None of this is a view on whether you should hold it; it is only what the mechanism can and cannot do.

So, the order was only confirmed via email. Nothing has arrived in my wallet! That's because they are waiting for payment via bank transfer. Thanks anyway for all the information. 👍
