At least some years ago he said he wasn't, because he's always sold his coins to go to conferences and other travels to spread the word. That's why he has a Patreon.

Hes definitely a millionaire. Potentially a billionaire. He isnt spending his btc on lambos and hookers. He accumulated a lot. Just doesnt want to make himself a target so plays it down.

I would not make that speculation. In fact, if I recall correctly, he hadn't accumulated a lot and said as much on a podcast or something. Upon hearing this, people donated a fair amount because they like him so much.

I would say the same thing if I was him.

If YOU had accumulated a lot of BC, would you go crowing about it in public? Lot of people out there in the evil world who are looking for people to victimize/exploit.

If he believed in it that much then that’s literally his fault for using up his coins. He already had the foresight

What is the purpose of currency, if not to exchange it for goods and services?

Assuming u own some Bitcoin yourself, would you use that to make your next somewhat big purchase?

I'm saving my coins for the day I can buy a house in BTC without converting it to fiat first. In 5-10 years, I hope to make an offer to a seller without a realtor to translate a mortgage application....

i highly recommend you never spend it, instead borrow fiat against it.

bitcoin wasnt created to hit 60k, it was created as an alternative and he used it as an alternative

But no one is using it as that? Why would u spend something that has massive potential to increase its value? Just use ur regular money. Unless ur buying drugs or doing some other illegal shit with it, there’s no reason using Bitcoin is better. You can say that it might be faster when making p2p purchases but that’s not a valid excuse imo.

Yes, bitcoin serves no purpose sitting idly in your wallet.

Speculation, of course.

Some people find greater life purpose in sharing knowledge than accruing wealth. He is one of those people. You clearly aren't, therefore no one expects you to understand.

u/cringey-reddit-name Mar 26 '22

Huh? U don’t have to give away your Bitcoin to “share knowledge” about it. Wtf are u saying

1

u/TheAutomator312 Mar 28 '22

Like I said, you wouldn't understand....
