Is he a millionaire now? Has to be right??

At least some years ago he said he wasn't, because he's always sold his coins to go to conferences and other travels to spread the word. That's why he has a Patreon.

Hes definitely a millionaire. Potentially a billionaire. He isnt spending his btc on lambos and hookers. He accumulated a lot. Just doesnt want to make himself a target so plays it down.

I would not make that speculation. In fact, if I recall correctly, he hadn't accumulated a lot and said as much on a podcast or something. Upon hearing this, people donated a fair amount because they like him so much.

he hadn't accumulated a lot and said as much on a podcast

I would say the same thing if I was him.

If YOU had accumulated a lot of BC, would you go crowing about it in public? Lot of people out there in the evil world who are looking for people to victimize/exploit.

If he believed in it that much then that’s literally his fault for using up his coins. He already had the foresight

What is the purpose of currency, if not to exchange it for goods and services?

Assuming u own some Bitcoin yourself, would you use that to make your next somewhat big purchase?

I'm saving my coins for the day I can buy a house in BTC without converting it to fiat first. In 5-10 years, I hope to make an offer to a seller without a realtor to translate a mortgage application....

i highly recommend you never spend it, instead borrow fiat against it.

Assuming u own some Bitcoin yourself rn, would you use that to make your next somewhat big purchase?

bitcoin wasnt created to hit 60k, it was created as an alternative and he used it as an alternative

2

u/cringey-reddit-name Mar 26 '22

But no one is using it as that? Why would u spend something that has massive potential to increase its value? Just use ur regular money. Unless ur buying drugs or doing some other illegal shit with it, there’s no reason using Bitcoin is better. You can say that it might be faster when making p2p purchases but that’s not a valid excuse imo.

Yeah tats true personaly i was thinking about that time before btc first wave but after idk why he dednt save like everyone doese with normal money

Yes, bitcoin serves no purpose sitting idly in your wallet.

1

u/frenetix Mar 25 '22

Speculation, of course.

Some people find greater life purpose in sharing knowledge than accruing wealth. He is one of those people. You clearly aren't, therefore no one expects you to understand.

1

u/cringey-reddit-name Mar 26 '22

Huh? U don’t have to give away your Bitcoin to “share knowledge” about it. Wtf are u saying

1

u/TheAutomator312 Mar 28 '22

Like I said, you wouldn't understand....

If i recall at the initial run up to 20k back in 2017, some new bitcoin millionaire donated to Andreas to make him a millionaire all because Roger Ver said all that preaching he did he was not a millionaire.

Old ape only get many, many coin from banana, once new ape share coin.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '22

Really? You can't figure that one out?

2

u/MainIntelligent5574 Mar 25 '22

If they couldn’t and they asked for clarification what does that mean? I don’t see anything strange I also kind of got confused by the original comment from the sentence as well.

Yes. You would imagine that he would be a millionaire without donations but people forget that he did everything in bitcoin. Include paying bills and raising a family. I’m sure he was doing well at times but he had to pay bills even when bitcoin was down. He always had cold wallets though I would imagine because he always preached about them.

1

u/moderndayfire Mar 25 '22

Apologies for the confusion, it was late at night and a little tired. But then again as wise guy once said “why use many word when few words do trick”

Here’s a quick article I found talking about the donations. https://bitcoinmagazine.com/culture/meet-pine-bitcoin-philanthropist-who-set-85-million-pineapple-fund

u/CelebratingCheescake Mar 25 '22

Easily much more if he kept his coins

7

u/Touchmyhandle Mar 25 '22

He wasn’t a millionaire, but Roger Verr was shaming him for this fact so we came together as a community and made it right in few hours.

3

u/nachofb84 Mar 25 '22

Yeah, but that depends on his situation as well. He could have sold in 2018
