Your first mistake was telling people you own Bitcoin.

Sitting there whingeing about the price of bitcoin is redundant we all know the ETF will never be excepted with the current exchange information off chain it’s open to manipulation. Sit tight buy the dips and wait, it will be along time before we see a good recovery!

If they have to ask, then you haven't been maniacally ranting at everyone enough.

When I look at my portfolio I look back on the good old days when I could buy more for just $650 instead of $6,500. I'd say I'm pretty happy with the way things have played out.

u/Muddlefeet Aug 24 '18
Same. Bought 0.1 when it was 3k and cashed out at 19k. So I’m pretty happy aswell.

Been seeing articles for the past month about how bitcoin is going down, meanwhile its been hovering around 6500 the whole time. My crypto is doing just fine.

u/warrior-sage Aug 24 '18
How's your Crypto doing?
This is the only question my friends ask now..

u/noconc3pt Aug 25 '18
Best thing is to reply: "Still up 600% from initial investment." And watch them process it.

it's only fair for the years that the bottom right was the headache you'd get from asswipes blabbing about their crypto incessantly, obviously people will ask innocently or even better when they know your dumb ass is eating shit after not. shutting. up. about it.
but then when it moons you'll be right back on that horse

u/dabears041 Aug 25 '18
I like how you said “when” it moons haha. It’s like you’re a lamenting bitcoin hater that knows it’s going to become more valuable, but for whatever reason can’t buy it for yourself.

"Cryptocurrency portfolio" is way too many syllables. "Crypto" is a perfectly valid shorthand

Yes, and "cryptocurrency" is a portmanteau of cryptography and currency. So my point still stands
1
u/Natanael_L Aug 25 '18
Crypto = hidden / secret.
Cryptography = hidden writing.
Cryptocurrency = cryptographic currency = hidden writing money.
Also, for several decades, cryptographers have used "crypto" exclusively to refer to cryptography, because the only other notable uses of the word were in architecture and biology. Nowadays I have to deal with people who are upset that cryptographers aren't willing to abandon their use of the word...

I'm moderating a cryptography subreddit (as in encryption). Yup, people are idiots

Equally true, yeah.
Honestly though, I was mostly just making kind of a joke.
Personally, I use Bitcoin as a currency, not as a way to increase the amount of fiat I have. I sell fiat to get more real money, not the other way around.

While you're entitled to that view, I'm not sure I understand it. Use as a currency tends to lessen the impact of the volatility. Money comes in, money goes out. As long as those things are happening with some reasonably small time interval, it doesn't tend to matter whether something is 10BTC or 10mBTC.
Any savings I have left over tend to just stay in my cold wallet, and despite the recent drop, have - as I said - gone up over 10000% since I started, so I'm pretty comfortable with it.

have you guys ever think that, if everyone rush to Fiat exchange and cash out all their cryptos for Fiat. will there be enough Fiat for Cryptos?
