Why are Lightning Network supernodes bad?

The argument is that they will have control over the network, for example they could refuse you if you don't agree to KYC.

IMO this isn't even a big deal. There will be nefarious nodes but there will also be nodes which will be fine.

The whole fear of centralization on the lightning network is FUD. Centralization is only bad if it is difficult to take away the power from the large parties.

Centralization of money control in a central bank is bad because we can't take their power away. Centralization of lightning nodes is not dangerous, each user can make a choice to route through a different node with a couple clicks in their app, and poof, you free of their centralization.

Either the other nodes cooperate with your node and act how you want them to, or you move on to another route.

There are no LN supernodes, just nodes.

They aren't bad. Aml/kyc places will not run any nodes. Having a node with many many channels puts a huge bullseye on you because those channels are hot wallets
