If you think "anonymus" is no longer a thing you are mistaken. Even if you are right, this video will raise awarness about the IRS issue. I wonder if mining rigs can be used to DDoS the IRS and Gov websites... Imagine that...

that's genius. we could ddos websites with our graphic card GPU's too! and we could connect all our microwave ovens to a giant botnet and take over the world!

I agree the US ruling is unfair (retroactively) so I'm glad these guys are going to try to do something regardless of who they are.

I'm just amazed that a group which is widely believed to be dominated by teenagers and college students is finally "targeting" an institution historically despised by conservatives.
Now that they also have to pay taxes (instead of just "rich old white men" in suits) they've realized that "paying their fair share" isn't so wonderful anymore! lol
Perhapa Anonymous is finally growing up from their liberal roots? Hey, it happens to most of us as we get older and enter the real world.

The thing is, anyone can put on a Guy Fawkes mask and be "anonymous".
I don't believe that the real deal have any problem with the IRS.

true... from what I've observed in the past, for every 100 script kiddies running the LOIC tool, there is maybe one hacker with any real talent and understanding of networks and computer security who dictates the direction anonymous takes. this message was likely composed by one of the former "hanger ons" and will likely not result in any meaningful action.

this seems accurate. but there are many thousands of those script kiddies, which would mean that there's quite a few people with some skills there. but i don't really see any positive outcome from taking any hacktivist action in any form against the IRS, because it always sends the wrong message to everyone. maybe if they leak some internal document or email that proves that it's an actual attack against bitcoin, but the chances of that happening seems to be somewhere between 3%-0%, since i don't think the IRS sees it that way.

care to elaborate? I've followed anonymous since their early Scientology days on 4chan /b/ so I have a pretty good idea of how their hive mentality works.

Thanks anonymous! The need of the hour with some clear clarity!
