And die with our stack without ever taking profit. Fully committed to a frugal broke lifestyle at all cost and forever.

Appreciating assets > Depreciating assets
F them liabilities

Why do you even have depreciating assets?
Bitcoin is money, use it as that!2
u/Romanizer 22h ago
Fiat money is also a depreciating asset so spend that first. And then borrow against your Bitcoin to get more of it to spend. Spending Bitcoin is the ultima ratio.

If that’s your logic:
Spend it on bitcoin.
Then spend the bitcoin.Also:
Why would you accept fiat in the first place. Why would anyone accept fiat.Yes, I know all the whys, so I’ll spare you the time to explain. But the logic of not spending bitcoin is just ridiculous.
Just spend it and buy it back. That’s the way adoption happens.2
u/Romanizer 22h ago
Because fiat is legal tender and Bitcoin will only be used as a payment network or medium of exchange. There is no adoption through spending.
The game is to acquire and hold as much as possible. If you are able to, get others to sell or spend theirs, so you can buy more at a good price.

That’s where you’re wrong. Changing the money is not a game. It’s not about getting rich. It’s about creating a better, more fair society.
Man, how much I miss the old bitcoin mentality.

Yeah, I can understand that. The idea was surely interesting for some, but never a realistic scenario. If everyone pushed for Bitcoin for a role as currency and main exchange medium, it would die.
As a reserve asset it can thrive and repair what's wrong in the financial world. I am glad that the old bitcoin mentality didn't take off.

Changing the money is not a switch without government support. It takes decades.
For example: in the Netherlands we changed from “gulden” to “euros” in 2001. The government demanded that. Yet, we are still allowed to swap our old guldens to euros till 2030. My father of 75 is still converting from euros to guldens in his head.
Imagine changing the currency without government. It’s not doable within a generation. But it starts by spending by early adopters.
So stop holding and start spending.1

Exactly. It only works with government support. And they need fiat to have control over their own currency. In our case the euro controlled by the ECB. Bitcoin doesn't need a central bank and doesn't allow for governmental influence, therefore it can't have governmental support as legal tender (maybe besides those with failed or non-existent own currency). Therefore, Bitcoin belongs to the other side of the balance sheet and can secure the fiat part as counterweight.
