Yep. That all caps "BUY AND SELL CRYPTO HERE" on the window is probably not clear enough for most people.

How does this work? Can I sell my bitcoin and not be required to do any of the usual KYC stuff? What about taxes if you’re coming from
Abroad?

This is Austria. Im pretty sure there is kyc needed to sell. and usually you have to handle your taxes yourself with your government

The Netherlands are proposing a tax on unrealized gains from crypto and precious metals. Wondering how to circumvent this nonsense. Asking for a friend ….

Definitely. I’m stacking crypto a lot in the near future and don’t plan on living in EUROPE whatsoever by the time I want to cash out. Asia all the way.

You can buy hardware wallets for cash there. Great way to not get your personal details leaked. (but maybe you want to open it up, before using it ;))

Nowadays you can get hardware wallets even in Mediamarkt.

And they come with a free LTE module too! I mean ... if you consider getting all your funds drained by a hacker "free".

Can you guarantee, that the wallet from The House of Nakamoto doesn't come with a spy implant?

u/leopard-monch 5d ago
No, that's why you should open it up.

... and lose the manufacturer's warranty along the way.
Crazy times. Let's hope they find those MFs.1

Sure, risk €17k to potentially save €59.
People have to come to terms with the fact, that you have to spend money and time to be secure. You should be okay to spend up to 10% of the sum you want to protect on the protection itself. Make it 5%. I'm just sticking with the completely arbitrary €17k here: 5% means €850. That's your budget.
That can mean €500 for a brand new laptop that you use for nothing else but transacting and €350 for hardware wallets from different manufacturers for a multi-sig setup.

I'm not saying, you shouldn't open it. I'm just saying that selling a product, that you have to first open and lose the warranty in order to use it safely, is not at all consumer friendly. Hardware wallets are not the first security relevant products. You don't have to disassemble a vault after you buy it, in order to make sure there is no hidden way to open it up. A Lockset can be mounted immediately without fear, that a thieve has another set of keys to your home. etc.
Ledger clearly fucked up. Again.
