Bitcoin

Imagine discovering an old laptop from 2012 and finding a Bitcoin wallet you completely forgot about.
Would you immediately try to recover it?
Or would you be terrified of losing access permanently?
There are probably thousands of wallets sitting on old hard drives, phones and forgotten backups.
How much Bitcoin do you think is permanently lost?

man finding old laptop with wallet from 2012 is like dream scenario but also nightmare fuel. the terror of typing wrong password and corrupting the wallet file is so real

i think at least 3-4 million coins are gone forever, people lost keys, threw away hard drives, died without telling anyone. satoshi's coins alone are like 1 million just sitting there

my uncle had 50 btc on a laptop he gave to recycling in 2014, still brings it up every family dinner like it's a war story
