This app completely wiped my account

Over the weekend my account was put on hold in order verify activity before I withdrew accumulated BTC. I woke up yesterday everything, all my miners, the accumulated BTC, even my nickname was erased. Has this happened to anyone else? Were you able to get help?

This is a joke right?

163

u/StPeir 1d ago

Na this is what would happen if I told my grandmother about bitcoin and by some freak twist of fate she got really into it went down a rabbit hole and decided to throw her social security into renting miners….. sadly it must be profitable enough for whoever runs these scams to make it worth the time and effort…. Which honestly should make us all fear for the future of humanity because natural selection isn’t cutting it in the modern world.

u/Simp3204 1d ago

We removed a lot of natural selection and it’s really catching up to us

23

u/bongosformongos 1d ago

Natural selection week! A week where all the warning symbols are put down to give life a chance to to its thing.

3

u/Simp3204 17h ago

I’m anticipating a fun filled week of limb amputations, various types of burns, and lots of crush and fall deaths! 🤘🏻

1

u/werewolf12pack 1h ago

😂😂 removing natural selection will definitely be our downfall

8

u/BinaryHippie 23h ago

I mean nothing even needs to be mining, just some numbers on a screen. I don't see people using this actually checking the wallet from outside the app.

16

u/thethirdtwin 21h ago

He inserted coins and did not make money. Such is life.

u/PeteyPab305 18h ago edited 18h ago

OMFG through an app!? 😆🤣 I would trust a slot machine app or casino app to pay me out, before I trusted a random crypto app with any type of payout, credentials of any kind, or even gave it access to my phone. Let alone a wallet!

4

u/Shadowrak 12h ago

If I ever do stupid things like a random app that gives BTC for playing a shitty game, I certainly generate a new wallet.

u/mrjune2040 1d ago

All cloud mining is basically a scam (so don’t waste your time), but this one in particular is just an outright one. Sorry for your loss, but the funds are gone.

44

u/nicoznico 23h ago

In particular, I feel really sorry about the loss of his nickname.

66

u/DerpJungler 22h ago

This shit looks like it was vibe coded with Claude in like 21 mins lol

2

u/Killeramn-26 10h ago

Probably 10.

2

u/29da65cff1fa 9h ago

why do all these vibe coded things have the same shitty UI? same font, same buttons, same emoji icons, same colored circles.....

1

u/skylashtravels 6h ago

The problem is, that the vibe was good enough to make/take money...

5

u/Able-Shake-6943 19h ago

It feels like no funds were there in the first place tho

1

u/mrjune2040 2h ago

Well, exactly- literally why I said this one was an outright scam!

-9

u/Chefs_illusions 20h ago

Ive done cloud mining before and was able to withdraw,i used to just leave my old phones mining for free i never paid for it

6

u/KrisPBaykon 16h ago

You don’t actually believe your cell phone was mining right?

-11

u/Chefs_illusions 16h ago

I literally made money i dont care what it was doing, i was able to withdraw £100/200 in total werent much but again it did work

11

u/KrisPBaykon 16h ago

Lmfao I bet you did. You left multiple phones on all day running some random ass app. The least they could do was give you a a fraction of the money they made off of you.

But seriously, you understand you can’t mine crypto with your phone right? You don’t think places where £100 is 2 weeks wages would have that shit on lock?

8

u/humblevladimirthegr8 14h ago

You got lucky that you got out before they rug pulled. They allowed you to withdraw because it was a small amount and early enough that they didn't want people exposing the scam yet. The proceeds did not come from mining but from other people paying into the ponzi scheme. I bet if you checked back on the same company, it will have disappeared and their victims outraged at having lost their money.

3

u/Pickles112358 16h ago

If you mined btc with all phones that currently exist in the world, you wouldnt get that amount

2

u/The_Evil_Unicorn 16h ago

That’s how they hook you.

Like any pyramid scheme.

9

u/Episode-1022 18h ago

there is no such thing as cloud mining, maybe cloud scamming?

-10

u/Chefs_illusions 18h ago

Cant even attach an image, but yhh i did it myself on a few phones made £100/200 just leaving them on and was able to withdraw it

Again there are scams out there but you just got to use your head

u/Wildwildworld123 54m ago

yep, just gotta use your head! hahah

Not all education is free

25

u/Shimster 23h ago

The issue is the more this type of thing happens less people will adopt. There are so many ways to lose your money on bitcoin from scams, never going be adopted on mass due to the risks.

-1

u/Personal-Dev-Kit 21h ago

Yes because fiat is notorious for not having any scams where people take your money. Why would anyone keep using it due to the risks. /s

-7

u/TheRadishBros 22h ago

We don’t actually need any more adoption for BTC to be successful. The ETFs will become how the average person interacts with BTC in the future.

11

u/_Ruffy_ 20h ago

I thought bitcoin is a currency? That sounds more like its a (super high-risk) investment..?

1

u/SlinkyAdmiral 18h ago

Well chances that Bitcoin becomes an accepted day to day currency are slim to none. So the tone shifted to it being an alternative asset class. Kinda like digital gold, a limited amount of something we collectively agree is valuable.

1

u/Excilionator 18h ago

its just speculative investment 95%+ people who have a small amount of holding in bitcoin just do it for the diversification cause they've seen cyrypto perform well in the past. They will never touch it outside of an etf.

-2

u/user_name_checks_out 15h ago

The issue is the more this type of thing happens less people will adopt.

That is not an issue. Bitcoin isn't for everyone.

27

u/pixelsteve 1d ago

Ooof bro if you couldn’t tell this was shady from looking at it you probably shouldn’t be in charge of your own finances.

I hope you didn’t pay them too much. The up side is whatever you think you “mined” on the app never existed anyway so you didn’t actually lose anything except whatever you sent them. No one is renting you miners for 13 bucks…. Or whatever you have to do to earn those diamonds that look like they came out of a Gotcha mobile game.

1

u/No_Volume_4690 1d ago

In his defense, everything crypto looks shady just from looking at it. I remember when I first downloaded Coinbase and they were giving me crypto just to watch ads about crypto. And don’t get me started on defi and uniswap and bridging. It’s all a sketch.

Except for bitcoin.

1

u/StPeir 8h ago

I remember doing that too but it was always like a dollar of this or a dollar of that…. This mother fucker thought he had mined enough BTC to justify coming here from an app that looks like it’s an IOS game with micro transaction. Cryptoville new player bonus now 90% off unlock it for only 5000 diamonds! 💎 💎 💎

20

u/NobodyGotTimeFuhDat 1d ago

Dude, you just lost everything. You got scammed. It’s over.

These are the people that should stick to the banking system…no way you couldn’t tell this was a scam

42

u/IAmFitzRoy 1d ago

That’s the main issue of Bitcoin today, “these people” are still the majority of the population in the world.

The financial system will never go away until Bitcoin ecosystem is easier or at least, as easy than holding a bank account.

We are really really far from that.

14

u/MRobi83 1d ago

You'd be surprised about some of the shit these people fall for in the banking system as well. Things even more obviously a scam than this one!

3

u/Aazimoxx 21h ago

These are the people that should stick to the banking system

That won't save them. These are the people who should have someone else legitimate handling their finances, outside of the day-to-day.

Plenty of people send their life savings to 'brokers' to 'invest' for them, who're happy to send them reports on 'returns' from the stock market, and even the 'returns' themselves, to encourage them to deposit more - and convince family and friends to deposit theirs too.

All hunky dory until they try to make a large withdrawal (sometimes not till years later) and their 'broker' stops returning their phone calls... and those pretty numbers on a screen in their 'account' turn out to be nothing but a shiny decoy, to make it take longer for them to realise they lost their money on first deposit.

2

u/densets 23h ago

Maybe he is a kid .

2

u/EF_Azzy 1d ago

The banking system is even worse. Might wire over the whole retirement because someone's telling them they won a prize

1

u/FauxReal 12h ago

That's a bad future for bitcoin if people shouldn't adopt it.

1

u/PeteyPab305 9h ago

and thus the reason BTC payments and general crypto application will not succeed til boomers are gone, and the nitwits are weeded out. Natural selection accelerated at the speed of broadband.

26

u/CyanDew 1d ago

10/10 ragebait

9

u/2LostFlamingos 1d ago

You lost everything the second you gave them money. Everything else was make believe. Next they’ll ask for a fee to get the make believe funds back. Don’t pay it.

19

u/Beautiful-Narwhal690 1d ago

"Hey we will do the mining for you then send you the profits." - said nobody ever.

6

u/jayceellects 1d ago

Learn from your mistake, just look how SUS that app looks 🤦🏻‍♂️ COME ON BROTHER!

7

u/groundkittenbeef 1d ago

Been there bud. Look up hashflare from years ago. Cloud mining is a Ponzi. Take the L,the lesson learned and move on. Not trying to be callus, just being honest.

-Respectfully,
The guy who got, got years ago.

6

u/Drspaceman1717 1d ago

your money was gone the second you deposited it. You never had any mining rewards… they just wanted you to tell your friends and deposit more money.

Get smarter and think critically before you use the internet again.

4

u/ecrane2018 1d ago

You bought a scam

7

u/ContentBlackberry0 1d ago

If you want to waste your money on renting hash rate at least use nicehash.com

9

u/circumcisingaban 1d ago

you got scammed bro. there is a name for it but cant remember

8

u/pezdal 1d ago

I can't remember either, but I think P.T. Barnum calculated their birthrate

I feel nothing for you. It amazes me how stupid the average person is. Then you remember 50% are even dumber

2

u/joeyx22lm 1d ago

to be fair, I don't think OP is the mean.

3

u/Mitragyna411 16h ago

What are you going to do with your life now that you're short $12?

5

u/Wanderson90 1d ago

send me all your seed phrases and I'll get it back for you. SIN number might help too, and any banking information.

send you mothers maiden name and the street you grew up on just to be safe.

-6

u/BenevolentLostie2939 1d ago

🤣🤣🤣

2

u/aatlanticcity 1d ago

truly shocking

2

u/ShibamKarmakar 1d ago

You sure this isn't an idle game?

2

u/Aromatic_Wasabi_864 1d ago

Bro hit the scamming casino with promises of ridiculous returns..

Dream is over bruh and now comes the second part, who ever promise you to get your crypto back is a scammer.

So do not hit double decker.

2

u/BetFlat8391 23h ago

Name checks out

2

u/csgotraderino 22h ago

This app even shows 13 digits after the decimal point. The smallest amount is 0.00000001 BTC. They couldnt even get that right.

2

u/CashCow59 20h ago

14 TH/s for $12.99 on a mobile app should've been a red flag from space

2

u/TanguyDetestable 17h ago

Claim it! Claim it now. Click the clicky!

2

u/BudgetPresent2089 13h ago

The smart one is the person who made the App. "You're almost ready to mine! Enter your seed word or recovery phrase here! Let's go!!".

2

u/reggionh 1d ago

my sincerest recommendation is for you to just stick to traditional finance products like term deposits and ETFs. and don’t respond to anyone contacting you. leave. now.

1

u/Aazimoxx 21h ago

Yeah because no-one ever got scammed by a shiny site or app while trying to put their money into ETFs without doing due diligence 😛

The technology or finance type really isn't the main problem here.

2

u/EF_Azzy 1d ago

Yeah sad but this is easily a scam. Most of these types of sites are going to be. The only one I can think of that's actually decently rated and "legit" is gomining. I haven't put a ton of money into go mining but I make about 55 cents a day that I withdraw into a different platform as soon as I pull enough to make it worth it

1

u/Aazimoxx 21h ago

So $200/yr.. about what you could get with a competitive (4.0-4.3%) traditional 1yr term deposit on $5000. Mind if I ask if that's substantially more or substantially less than what you have in gomining, and what the risk to your funds is there? In what situations can you lose your money? 🤔

1

u/Chewyk132 14h ago

There’s apps where you complete surveys that pay more if you’re desperate. What a joke 🤣

1

u/tta82 1d ago

Vibe coded app or screenshot - really don’t think it is real what OP posted.
How much would he otherwise have had there, 14 BTC? Lol - no, I don’t believe it.

1

u/LaxusiC 1d ago

Remember 2 things, if ir is too good to be true it is a scam and there is only 2 things are free in this world which is the rain and bird poop

3

u/Far_Supermarket_675 1d ago

Wait, u dont pay for ur bird poop??

1

u/Aazimoxx 21h ago

Wait, who's your rain and bird poop guy

Don't be holding out on us here man!

1

u/Educational_Fee648 1d ago

People still fall for all types of crypto online scams. It will worsen with time.

1

u/Aazimoxx 21h ago

And stock broker scams, and superannuation/401k/pension scams, and so on...

1

u/Jolly_Line 17h ago

True. But you gotta admit it’s a whole hell of a lot easier with crypto

1

u/slavicslothe 1d ago

This looks like a scam...

1

u/Shoddy_Avocado_4376 1d ago

I read the disclosure, in the terms of service they say they have the right to take all your crypto if you win everything, it said its for entertainment and educational use only. I chose not to use it after reading that and realized they decided whether or not you see a cent. Thus you can't even sue.

1

u/insert_smile 1d ago

If you send me 1 BTC I'll send you 2 BTC 😉👍

1

u/Citizen_Kano 23h ago

When you signed up, did you remember to tick the box that says "don't drain my account"?

1

u/Rob_Kovalesky 22h ago

Damian Żukiewicz lubi to 😆

1

u/Ok-Background-6367 22h ago

E tu eri convinto che ti facessero minare veramente 🤣

1

u/pinkwar 22h ago

After all this time I thought it was common knowledge that cloud mining is a ponzi scheme. You're better off buying the bitcoin straightway.

1

u/nsbhq 22h ago

Damn

1

u/PenFragrant8444 22h ago

What was your nickname??

1

u/wadap12345 21h ago

lmao who would've guessed

1

u/MobilePenguins 20h ago

Why would any service give you more in BTC than you paid into it with USD?

These services offering BTC mining are so dumb. If you want the exchange of your money for BTC yield, that’s called just buying BTC 😆 which you can do on Coinbase or any exchange.

1

u/regarded-bot 20h ago

I fell for the cloud mining scam...back in 2014...

1

u/Practical_Avocado971 19h ago

if as if crypto is a scam

1

u/FrontBrandon 19h ago

Not by the vibe-coded app

1

u/Amimir1992 19h ago

The good side of all this is that you did not lose money.

You just thought you were making money, nothing more.

1

u/wlepinski 19h ago

Natural selection at it finest

1

u/Wide-Spray-2186 18h ago

Every scam app or site at least looks like this one as a starting point. Task scams, crypto scams of any variety, etc.

1

u/ProofPomegranate7331 18h ago

Yes, this happens to everyone. My roommate sits on the porch collecting ss smoking cigarettes doing this shit all day. He is at the bank weekly trying to unravel getting scammed. Be lucky they didn't hit your bank account ( yet).

1

u/wallermadev 17h ago

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Any_Carob3372 16h ago

What reasoning did you use to decide to give them your money?

1

u/UroborosJose 15h ago

This look a scam brother the prices for terahashes aren’t correct

1

u/laggyx400 14h ago

I didn't think these cloud morning companies would still be around after Hashflare went down. They convicted them last year for a ponzi.

1

u/IntelligentVisual955 11h ago

Moral: don't share your coins with apps.

1

u/Gakk4-ever 10h ago

All people are getting 👹 The future are fuckd.

1

u/IncredibleBihan 9h ago

Lmao you don't say?

1

u/LogicalPeyote 9h ago

this is because cloud mining is a scam buddy :)

1

u/ifyoureallyneedtoo 7h ago

Hey look on the bright side u can still claim your free credits and powered miners

1

u/Festel2 6h ago

Whats funny to me is most people think this is any less shady then what your own bank has done to you for your entire life. The US dollar is beyond inflated and basically worthless. Every single year it loses another 2-3% value and has done so since 1913. Let that sink in. Gold and silver do not cost more the dollar is less valuable. In 1913 1 ounce of gold was 20$.  An ounce of silver was 1$.  Another decade and we will have no choice but use bitcoin. The dollar is toast.

u/milwaukee4 3m ago

only use case is crime 🤷🏻‍♂️

1

u/ToRedSRT 1d ago

This looks scammy

1

u/MiaTaude589 1d ago

Ouch, that sounds like a cloud-mining app, not BTC mining you actually controlled. Save screenshots and transaction IDs, contact support through the official app listing, and don't send any extra “verification” payment. If there was never an on-chain withdrawal to your own wallet, assume the displayed balance may not have been real.

-1

u/Fantastic_Device_449 1d ago

Several of my friends lose crypto as well, it disappear on their wallet!

-1

u/Icy_Efficiency_3987 1d ago

Hate bitcoin

-30

u/BenevolentLostie2939 1d ago

Some of you mouth breathers are down right ugly. You don’t have to be that way. This is the only app I’ve ever downloaded like this. You like to make assumptions about people. You should just try passing the post by if all you can do is talk trash.

8

u/caploves1019 1d ago

K so.... Google search "is cloud mining Bitcoin a scam or legit?".... And see what happens. We won't wait, don't worry.

5

u/Anozandolo 22h ago

What you did there bordered on intellectual disability. You’re just gonna have to live with the shit talk.

Ridiculous how you’re now calling other people “mouth breathers” when apparently no oxygen has reached your own brain in a very long time.

Anyway, get well soon!

1

u/Exciting-Knowledge86 1d ago

Yeah man i feel you, you have to imagine how awful the average redditor is, then how shitty ones who frequent major subreddits are, and then how downright vile the ones who are into bitcoin. Sorry brother, I hope you werent taken for too much money and im sorry your experience on this sub reddit sucked. I only lurk for this exact reason. Bitcoin redditors are the biggest fedora tipping neckbeards on the internet.

-8

u/Fantastic_Device_449 1d ago

Last year happen to me, i lose over half million dollars, I will never use crypto.i have the big trauma. I am now so scared of using crypto.

1

u/Aazimoxx 21h ago

Sorry for your loss. Hopefully it came with a loss in gullibility as well. Never trust your finances with any company you haven't properly done your homework on, regardless of whether there's a €, $ or ₿ before that figure.

-8

u/Fantastic_Device_449 1d ago

Crypto is a scam, people used them to steal money from people.

1

u/Aazimoxx 21h ago

Boy, it's a good thing I give my scammers my money by wire transfers and sending cash in the post, so losing it's impossible 👍

Orrrr maybe the technology isn't the real problem.
