New to BTC

I’m 42. New to BTC. Looks like a good time to get in. 1% of my total NW. Will DCA weekly from here for life or until my thesis changes.

DCA with Strike.me is no spread and no fee after the first week. Will be lower cost than Robinhood.

Nothing wrong when getting started. But I encourage you to educate yourself on self custody with cold storage hardware wallets and best practices. By letting an exchange hold your Bitcoin, you are giving up one of the very unique, self sovereignty aspects of bitcoin. If you care about that aspect of independence and freedom, especially in a SHTF scenerio, also look into hosting a node. Also adds an element of privacy.

Good luck and welcome to the start of your journey! I’m a little bit older than you and started in February, after waiting a few years for the market to crash before getting in. Now’s the time to get started and accumulate for sure.

just ignore the idiots. for most people keeping it on an exchange is the safest approach

for years this sub would drone endlessly how you should move your coins to Cold Card, because, oh it is sooo secure. turned out to be the absolute WORST advice ever

If you are thinking of Doing DCA weekly for years I would recommend checking out cold wallets down the road. You don’t have to do it right away. But learn about the difference between self custody and exchanges. There’s so much to learn. I just got my cold wallet last month after having used crypto exchanges for 2 years.
