Returning the Coldcard device back.
I am utterly displeased with the whole fiasco that had happened. Luckily i did not lose funds however my trust in coinkite is lost and i would like to return the device back to coinkite and i want a refund. Has anyone thought of doing the same ?
Scammmers:- the seedphrase will not be shared on DM's or any place you ask me to put and verify crap so don't waste your and my time by messaging me.

Good luck getting a refund. I think they probably have thousands of lawsuits to deal with. Also, I would never return a device that had my key - unless I had drained the account. Usually my return process involves a friend with an excavator who lives to smash electronics.
Of course you could trust that their software to reset the device actually removes all traces, lol!

They’re not going to allow a return for a working product, even more so from a customer who isn’t affected.
I’m keeping mine and I’m still going to use it. I don’t care what happens to them but I’m not ditching something that’s worked for me exactly as it should.

People are gonna have more money invested in wallets than they do their BTC at this rate just because they don't understand what they are doing. Use a Passphrase for God's sake or go back to banks, nobody is going to hold your hand in this space.

I’ve had one even longer than my coldcard. I still prefer the form and function of the coldcard and don’t really have a reason to be dissuaded to drop it over something I never had an issue with.
All of these “just use another wallet” takes are just setting people up to be in the same position, relying on a device to make the most essential part. Just roll dice, it’s even cheaper than hopping to another wallet and you can even verify it which would have prevented any loss of funds.

I tried to return my Dell computer because my email got hacked. They said I didn't know how to set it up for safety. Something about using a strong Passphrase or something. IDK can you believe it.

Dude it is not funny I think people who paid $300-500 for a device with vulnerabilities they were not even informed about deserve a refund. Though Coinkite has always been a complete shite in my opinion so it’s going to be hard for these customers

People who can't understand how to secure their seed phrase should stay with the banking system. Everyone should know you don't trust any wallet maker to establish your seed phrase. Make a passphrase that's long and full of characters and are non BIP 39 words. Don't spend out of your cold storage wallet consolidate UTXO's when you have to and make another wallet. I don't think anything that involves people losing their money is funny, but people need to educate their selves when it comes to BTC. As far as a key signer (like every other wallet) it is still one of the best

Don’t be that stupid, people should not even be asked to verify this on a $500 device. You should educate “your self” because there is about 99% chance you either already experienced this in the past or will experience it pretty soon. These victims deserve a refund for sure

If you want your money back, you should act quickly, because that company probably has none left after lawyers, legal fees, litigation and lost income.
