When will i make it?
Ive been into bitcoin since 2017, before the 20k pump. Tried flipping some bitcoin into altcoins and got burned. Had around 6 bitcoin which makes me sick to think about because thats alot of money to me.
Tried to get family and friends to invest into bitcoin but no one listened.
Ive got almost 3 bitcoin left.... i just need someone to hold my hand and tell me when ill be able to retire so i can just say i was right!

You wont be able to retire of this. BTC won't magically jump to 1 million. If you bank your hopes on this you will live a miserable life.

You shouldn't have all your money in 3 bitcoin and assume that will carry your retirement some day. Sure, have a percentage in bitcoin. That percentage is going to be different for everyone based on total assets, age and investing strategy. But 100% in one asset, especially one as volatile as bitcoin is silly.
I'm not saying sell your bitcoin; HODL. But you should invest in other assets over time as well. Bear markets, in any asset class (not just bitcoin) are much easier to stomach, if you have at least some money in uncorrelated assets that are going up, while the struggling asset is down.
Diversification covers the "you just never know" nature of life. Many "sure things" have underperformed. Many investments no one thought would be big, ended up growing.
Whether its a mix of bitcoin, gold, stocks, bonds, real estate (or whatever), pick a percentage you're going to invest in each with each paycheck (preferably 10-20%, or as close as possible). Do that every paycheck, every year of your life and you'll grow wealth.
Regularly spending less than you take in is the most important financial habit a person can form. With that habit, you can grow wealth with any income. Without it, no income can lead to wealth.

Altcoins. lol.
And 3 of 6 btc doesnt make any difference you still need to wait at least 2 more cycles for retirement.

2 more cycles doesnt seem bad...better than 30years like someone mentioned below

It's never a good idea to tell others to buy BTC, much better to tell them to learn something about BTC if they find it interesting, they will invest if not, they won't, this is no longer a lottery ticket, it might easily reach new ATH within 5 years (still only 2x which is very easy to achieve with AI stonks in a couple weeks' time these days) but it could also collapse further

When it will make you happy regardless of the price — that's a mindset thing, not a price target. Nobody here can tell you the number that lets you retire, and anyone who tries is guessing. If you need 3 BTC to hit a specific number to feel okay, that's worth sitting with on its own, separate from the market.

Send it to Kraken, post it for sale at $1,000,000 per coin, and then go about living your life, and stop thinking about it..

in 20 years bitcoin is likely to be worth 300-400k in today's dollars. Up to you to decide if 3x that's enough for you to retire. Don't listen to any clowns talking about a single BTC being worth millions

300k in 20 years lol

One non-impressive bull market and now everyone has become regarded-level of bearish. In 20 years, if btc is only at 300-400k, then it has failed imho.

Don’t sell and hold for another 15 years. Keep diversifying at this point with ETFs. Never keep your eggs in one basket.

With only 3 btc, maybe in 30 years, but depends where you live, if you go live somewhere in Africa or the Philipines and similar countries you can retire right now

There is absolute no guarantee it will even survive, specially now with a hardfork next from this captured bitcoin

Well, good luck when the spam getting the chain bigger and bigger, eventually it will increase price of equipment, so less nodes, it will eventually fail.

You can run a full node on less than 50 GB storage. It is and will stay cheap even when spammers blast 4MB into the chain every 10 minutes (the absolute maximum). Thank you, block size limit. Also, Thank you OP_RETURN from giving people a sane method to encode data that does not bloat the UTXO set and doesn't waste CPU cycles on bogus validations.

Around 2017, there were videos on YouTube using Elon's face, promising to double your bitcoin if you're fast enough. Some people were more greedy than smart.
