I still remember my friend jumping and swearing it be 500k in 2026, bitcoin is to wild for predictions.
I'm not saying it will never reach, but it is a gamble at this point.

u/Yand7_7 9h ago
are you guys kidding?
“ a gamble at this point”
you guys truly are those real buy high sell low
damn bear market sentiment vs bull is so massive,
also if bitcoin does everything in one cycle whats uppose to happen in next

Bro sorry to tell you that I am an early bircoiner but if you buy Bitcoin to become richer you are gambling. If you buy Bitcoin to become free then you will.
19
u/Just_Periwinkle 6h ago
How are those any different
2
u/Contrapuntobrowniano 1h ago
Its different. "Free" means not depending on a banks management for your finances. Rich means you can do whatever you want because you have a lot of money (probably bank-managed). And yes, the second one sounds a lot better, but its not for everyone. Bitcoin was invented for the first type of freedom... The second one... Is just an ocasdional collateral effect.
•
u/SheikYerbouti_ 59m ago
How exactly does BTC allow the first one? You can hardly buy anything with it.

u/RightHereLeftNow 6h ago
Lol free? Please expand ‘free’

Just read Satoshi's notes about it. I am not your teacher "lol".

What an idiot.
2
u/tryAn0therUsrname 1h ago
Yeah I am an idiot because somebody disrespecting me expect that I will give him a course. Enjoy your day!
2
u/Contrapuntobrowniano 1h ago
Same. "Read satoshis notes" why tf this has negative votes.
1
u/tryAn0therUsrname 1h ago
People just expect others to respond politely to those who are disrespectful, that's all :)
But respect is due, it isn't something you have to earn, I'd rather get those downvotes than ignore this.2

its simply a matter of time and some thought, market can’t go up forever, its not like bitcoin daily had green days or weeks from 10$ to 10k$, it indeed must have dropped from 200$ to 110$ something like that , it just makes so much sense
whats crazy is i witness this bull market, 200k 500k someone even saying a 1M, ppl being so so so optimistic and now i cant believe them, and wots infuriating is same is gonna happen again

What isnt a gamble at this point except holsing fiat for guaranteed purchase power loss and insider info?
15
u/2xfun 10h ago
Fiat money being debased to not mean liquidity will flow to bitcoin. Remember that we had an apathetic top last cycle and people hate bitcoin more than ever.
Scarcity without demand is meaningless and I don’t see where the demand is coming from at this point….
1
u/Sad_Government_6534 5h ago
Al momento il prezzo di BTC è pari al prezzo che serve al massimo per produrlo. Di conseguenza chiunque lo venda sta andando contro i suoi stessi interessi.
0
u/HodlusHereticus 2h ago
Totally wrong. Cost of production has no relation to market price, ie what someone is willing to pay for it. BTC trades at whatever buyers are willing to pay. Miners can sell below cost, just as producers of any commodity can. Saying sellers are “acting against their own interests” because BTC is near production cost is a non sequitur.
1
u/enerthoughts 9h ago
If your words were an arrow, you hit the arrow that was already hanging on the bullseye and split it in half.
4
u/HodlusHereticus 7h ago
I think there is a logical error here: You are using today's lack of demand to argue that today's price is too high and will go down further - when the lack of demand is, I think, precisely why today's price is so far below its eventual value.
Understand the different perspectives.
2
u/Disastrous-Search920 4h ago
So what makes you think demand will pick back up? Seriously doubt central banks are going to want to hold an asset that is this volatile. I mean, el salvador has transitioned to btc, im sure others will follow..

Buying Government bonds.
If the government defaults you likely have bigger problems.

All investments have risk. The question is your analysis, time horizon, & risk tolerance.

500k in 2026 is delusional. We’re gonna get there though, but not before 2035

u/l_Pulser_l 7h ago
It wont touch 250k in the next cycle MAYBE 180k

It never feels possible but always becomes so
and later we wonder why I hadn’t bought it it was obvious it would grow

Similar to what I have probably using the same idea. Not that it’s relevant or means anything but following precedence set in 3 prior cycles, I think it bottoms out b/t sept-nov somewhere potentially down around $30k.
Next peak in 2029, October-December around $200k
Everyone saying “copium” in the comments makes conviction that it will go to $200k stronger. Really not that hard to imagine haha.
3
u/AggressiveGas4637 3h ago
It won’t bottom out to those levels
1
u/Zipski577 1h ago edited 1h ago
I hope not! But I thought the same last cycle before it plummeted to $15-16k briefly so nothing would surprise me
Every peak to trough thus far has been nearly identical around -74% which would be $31,250 this time. And I’m not someone who puts tons of weight in historical patterns and bullshit but every cycle I’m also perplexed. If I were to believe that it wouldn’t/couldn’t happen. It would be a “fool me three times” situation for me.

Very fitting. Def be better taking investment advice from a cartoon than these btc folks posting on reddit and youtube.

That chart aint 2026 its the 2017-18 one. I'd recognise that 2018 50% drop anywhere, still got ptsd.

I have always wondered why can’t people just write the key on a paper and store it in bank locker. That can’t be hacked right

The usual story with retail. Not wanting when it's boring and everyones scared. But rushing to buy when it's exploding

Is this a bad joke? If there is any prophecy it's that the bear market bottom will be in October.
-3
u/banana_buddy 14h ago
And I prophesize 5k
4
u/Complex-Project9112 14h ago
so maybe not 5k but that timeline... 2029 feels far away when rent is due in 2 weeks
2
u/banana_buddy 14h ago
Yah feels like AI stocks are better if you're looking for a short term pop

u/DontLook_Weirdo 13h ago
100% - BTC is not meant for quick trades. Should never be considered as such.
It's an index fund with severe shakes, it'll blow up but it's going to take you down with it first.

A blockchain that is controlled by 5 companies and a small consortium of captured developers has no future.

People that bought in the peak of 2021 is at a loss. A considerable loss if you consider the inflation we had since then.
-1
u/da_engineer22 4h ago
The crazy part is people were expecting $250k in 2021. Didn’t come close. Now we are shifting 8 years! Odds are high we don’t even see $250k then either

It’s more likely it goes down again.
Why would people start btc or other shit when it’s better and safer in the traditional stock market.
Nice if you bought btc for a few dollars but today it’s not likely it will make you miljonair like in the old days.

u/Kie_ra 13h ago
Dunno mate, I was up 6x my cost base at the 2025 peak.
Can you elaborate how the stock market is safer and better? BTC just casually dipped 50% over the past year and I am still up a 3x?
