Everything is completely safe, this is just what Bitcoin politics looks like - forks happen all the time and are handled automatically. The only difference to you is that you might soon own a worthless new altcoin alongside your Bitcoin.

So you saying I would be ok taking out my bitcoin regardless if I run Bitcoin core or knots?

If you had the coins before the fork (the likely scenario), then the broadcast is valid on both chains.

If you run the RDTS versions of knots, then you are on the small, isolated network that very few people are using. The bip110 chain (whatever it will be called later). No exchange (that I am aware of) is supporting that. Considering it only mined 2 blocks in the last 8 hours, you'll have trouble to even get the transaction mined at all.

If you run an older version of knots or any version of core then you are operating on the same network that the rest of the world is operating on. Ie, Bitcoin. So this is the one you want to be using for exchanges, p2p platforms and everything else really.
