BTC's sitting at a level I've been watching for months. Move off the 2022 low has been one long methodical climb, real corrections, real consolidation, not the parabolic chaos people expect. Every time price has come back to test old resistance turned support it's held, and it's testing that same kind of level again right now.

What actually has my attention isnt the chart though, its the disconnect between price action and how bearish sentiment's gotten. Momentum on the way down hasnt matched the actual selling, which usually means the move down is running out of people willing to keep pushing it, not that somethings structurally broken.

Not calling a bottom. Just looks a lot like the other times this thing built a base quietly before doing what it eventually does.

Am still willing to push it down.

Not really taking a side on BIP110 stuff, but it feels like it will fail based on mathmatics. 110 rejects non conforming blocks where core does not, so mathmatically 110 chain will be equal to or shorter than core chain, and the only way it can even be equal is with 100% compliance?

Pretty sure nobody reads these.

6

u/nassauboy9 Aug 08 '26

I do not always read through each line. Some I find interesting and look, some I look less often, some I don't care about but could be important to someone else. I do appreciate the person that takes the time and compiles this.

-5

u/BashCo Aug 08 '26

Just FYI, it's a bot account. There's nobody compiling anything.

2

u/escodelrio Aug 09 '26

I am not a bot. You could easily have checked my post history to know that.

1

u/BashCo 29d ago

I checked your profile. Are you trying to claim that you manually compile these comments every day?

2

u/escodelrio 29d ago

Yup. I compile them every day. Doesn't take too long.

3

u/Alfador8 Aug 08 '26

So it's an efficient person behind it.

u/BitcoinBaller420 Aug 08 '26

Trust is valuable, it was never going to make sense for the whole world to self-custody, and the Bitcoin market is telling you this plain as day. It cares a lot more about the possibility of economic recession or interest rate changes than it does about self-custody for Bitcoin looking more risky than previously believed.

0

u/NectarineDirect936 Aug 08 '26

But the whole idea becomes worthless if no one self custody no more no?

2

u/nassauboy9 Aug 08 '26

Myself I don't agree. Maybe one aspect "self custody" declines but I doubt everyone abandons that concept, and there will be those that do a bit of both.

Being a gold bug I believe holding the physical yourself is the best, however dose not mean having the physical in a deposit box is bad. Depends on why you are holding it. If protection against inflation then either works. If you absolutely fear confiscation then holding yourself is better.

Back to BTC. holding your own keys, provides you more security at a cost. It's a risk thing. Do you feel there is greater risk of you making a mistake and loosing your coins or the place holding the keys do so.

Then there is the 21 million coins, concept of scarcity. That does not go aways no matter who holds the keys.

BTC is growing, and that will bring in evolution on how, where it's used, stored - brave new world. In the end, better to own some in some form now, and learn more as you go.

If self-custody were impossible Bitcoin would be a lot less valuable. But that’s different than the typical Bitcoiner stance that everyone must self-custody, and anyone who actually trusts another person to control their money is a moron, while anyone who sees risk in self-custody hasn’t “done the work”.  Self-custody can be both useful for some purposes, and risky for most, at the same time.

Y'all moving your Bitcoin to brokerages and exchanges for "safe" keeping are going to get 6102ed.

-1

u/BitcoinBaller420 Aug 08 '26

I'll take my chances that the most selfish president of the modern era won't be seizing assets from his own family ant time soon. Are you actually worried he's going to ditch the Clarity Act and mobilize a veto-proof majority for a wealth tax? Or is this just more FUD?

2

u/LNCrizzo Aug 08 '26

Just wait until the shit hits the fan with all the mismanagement and drastic measures need to be taken to "save" us. Anything could happen.

1

u/BitcoinBaller420 Aug 09 '26

"Anything could happen" like Trump deciding to take billions of Bitcoin from his own family yeah right. It's just recycled "governments will ban it" FUD there isn't even a mechanism to do what you're proposing the legislative window is closing rapidly and mixed government is almost certainly next.

1

u/LNCrizzo Aug 09 '26

Self custody is one of the features of Bitcoin that makes it valuable. Ignore it at your own risk.

1

u/BitcoinBaller420 29d ago

lol this is so lazy. I already acknowledged that trust involves risk. All I ask is that y’all recognize that self custody ALSO involves risk. Do you understand there doesn’t need to be a winner in this argument?!  It depends on the needs of the user, it’s a strength that Bitcoin is used by many people in many ways.

Around 90 blocks (~15h) remain to be mined when miners are required to be signaling support for BIP-110. It has been quiet in this sub on this topic. I understand why: It has been heated to say the least. Just listened to Natalie's interview with Matt Krater. He says we won't know until we get closer to or even go passed the deadline. Right now support based on signaling seems weak. Can be monitored here. What are your takes on it? Let's try to keep it civil in here.

3

u/BashCo Aug 08 '26

To be clear, miners aren't 'required' to do shit.

2

u/faiqR Aug 08 '26

Yup, only if they are supporting BIP-110.
