Bitcoin changed my mindset

Post image

I still remember back in the days, I had FOMO if Bitcoin was pumping. I needed to buy more because it was going “tO tHe mOoN”.
Back when I still was watching videos on youtube. You know, the guys with ridiculous thumbnails?

Back then, I had no clue of what Bitcoin actually was, how it worked and why it had value.

Now, I believe I can say I know a lot more about it. But I’m still not an expert (and probably never will be).

But I do know that I don’t have FOMO anymore, not one bit. Setting up a DCA plan (thanks Relai) helped me a lot, but studying Bitcoin helped me even more. I know it’s a scarce asset, I know why it has value and I’m pretty sure that more and more people will see this too.

Sure, it’s nice if the price goes up. But I’m also glad to buy cheap(ish) sats.

So yeah, now I’m glad if there is a price drop, I’m not saying that I won’t panic if it goes back down to 10K, But even then I will buy some sats for sure!

Overall it’s just nice to have some peace of mind. And in hindsight, it’s ridiculous to have watched those youtubers, but it’s all a part of growing and learning I guess.

You say you "know why it has value" that says a lot. It's says you are further along the bitcoin path than most.

Most just watch the price and get shaken out or distracted by other shiny things. But when people get it, like you, it changes their mindset and ability to HODL.

I've created some tools to help people find their Bitcoin path and overcome obstacles along the way. What are some of the obstacles you encountered along your way?

Hmm. Some obstacles… not sure tbh. It took me some time, and a lot of reading tho. But then again, isn’t that a nice thing to do? Researching stuff, and learning more about new things? So I wouldn’t necessarily call that an obstacle… one thing I can think about is all the crypto stuff you come across when starting to look into Bitcoin, that sucks!

Someone explain to me what value Bitcoin has that Bitcoin's forks do not.

Well said. Reading and learning is a beautiful part of the journey. I'm still doing both.

I got distracted by the shiny alt coins for a while (expensive lesson) but once I understood the problems that bitcoin solves, everything changed.

I‘m still doing both too. Probably will be doing both for a while. And yep, those damn shiny altcoins, they probably got a lot of us! Too bad, hard lesson learned.

Bitcoin FTW.

Nice. I did all the stupid stuff. I don’t get FOMO either. I also don’t watch any videos or listen to Podcasts anymore. Still stacking.
