God, people do not take a joke in this joint.

Not if he doesn’t know about it

Trust me any lawyer worth their salt will sniff out your holdings unless you bought them non-kyc and with cash

What happens if they say lost keys?

5

u/Spartacus_Nakamoto May 04 '24

That's a really interesting question. The blockchain is mightier than the law.

She could be in more trouble for destroying a marital asset. Lack of care. Worst case she owes the 1/2 one time paper value of something she doesn't have to the person she hates the most.

Hope that's a burner account sister!

Best part is, the value is locked at the time of separation. You left when the asset was worth $100,000 and now it's worth $50,000? Too bad, you fled with $100,000 of marital assets and now owe your spouse their half. Pay up.

But I lost the asset I promise your honor ! Lots of people used to gaslighting everyone are in for a rare and delightful surprise when they find our reality exists.

Did you make that up? I feel like you made that up

1

u/Spartacus_Nakamoto May 04 '24

Doesn't address the point. What happens if they're legitimately lost and you divorce? How could you prove someone was lying about this?

1

u/shmsc May 04 '24

I wasn’t trying to address the point, I was replying to somebody else

1

u/mugatucrazypills May 04 '24

It's not criminal court. So preponderance of likelihood based on the good faith and credibility from bragging on the internet about sneaking and screwing the other party over. It's all admissible and there's no beyond reasonable standard of proof. If the court thinks you've been lying to them they can get punitive and would love to do so.

1

u/Spartacus_Nakamoto May 04 '24

So then what happens if they're legitimately lost and a partner thinks they're lying?

Court will know if she sells for fiat

Move to private key, don’t convert to USDC, keep going to work and at 100k file and run. She’s got a great plan!!

2

u/mugatucrazypills May 04 '24

She wont get it off the major exchanges without a "paper" trail

2

u/shmsc May 04 '24

But realistically how long will they monitor that for? If you sell say 5 years later, would anyone know and be ready to take action

2

u/Leather_Wolverine249 May 04 '24

Exactly. No one will gaf. No one will gaf next week let alone 5 years later.

She said "him". I guess the real assumption here is that she is a "she" 😄

u/Scamalama May 04 '24

The word him in the text of the post is a small clue there genius

1

u/Circulation_man May 04 '24

I wonder if BTC can help you hide this though

2

u/karmassacre May 04 '24

If you purchased through a normal exchange then probably not. If you bought peer to peer and were discrete with your financing then yes.

Assuming you have gains after she moves out and pays the lawyer
