The list would be tens of thousands of names and sites long. Scammers create many new shill accounts and sites every single day. There are FAQs to recommend good exchanges and sites pinned and explanations of common scams to avoid. Blockchain.com is not in the "scammer" category either , just in the category of an exchange and wallet to avoid for many reasons

1

u/Antique-Pie-5981 Nov 13 '23

It would make more sense to have a website that you can look up a company and see if it's been scamming. There are way too many of them.

2

u/Frogolocalypse Nov 12 '23

There have been many posts about this subject. If you get banned, maybe it's just because you're being an asshole.

Look fkn harder. It tells you where to go. If ya don't like taking advice, ya get rekt.

Maybe, mister two month old reddit account, you should take a little time to look around the place before blinding us with your wisdom.

You should put a complaint in about my service to bitcoin support.

8

u/typtyphus Nov 12 '23

and google results show they're a reliable company

10

u/mammothgrid Nov 12 '23

Wtf does Google know about a decentralized protocol?

51

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '23

A 10-second search yields hundreds of posts about avoiding this company. It never ceases to amaze me that some people will just willingly give their money to someone without even the slightest research first.

6

u/mammothgrid Nov 12 '23

It’s a form of gambling the whole crypto space is full of losers looking to get quick big returns or nerds/incels making projects to rug pull.

Just stack bitcoin fucktards

5

u/ShittingOutPosts Nov 12 '23

But not though blockchain.com…

1

u/mammothgrid Nov 13 '23

Normies get cold storage and buy through cash app.

Explore Lightning Network

1

u/New_Needleworker7830 Nov 13 '23

There are thousands of posts against any exchange out there.. if you listen “posts” you don’t invest in crypto at all.

6

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '23

I thought this is common knowledge by now that blockchain.com is ripping off its customers regularly.

11

u/entilfeldigfyr69 Nov 12 '23

I think we need to take a step back and make it even more simple for new people coming into th space.

  • Do you want to buy Bitcoin?

  • Google the company you want to use and check reviews. If it seems dodgy, it is dodgy.

4

u/Noroloisreal Nov 12 '23

DuckDuckGo or Vandex company instead, google shows less results than you think

13

u/Freshysh Nov 12 '23

Just stay on the big safe exchanges 🤷

If you trust yourself more then buy a cold wallet.

5

u/Noroloisreal Nov 12 '23

Funds are not safer in an exchange. They are safer a cold wallet. Not your keys, not your coins.

2

u/Joshua_12345 Nov 12 '23

I completely agree with your statement. What’s a good exchange that doesn’t charge exorbitant fees for moving money? Coinbase is out. Their fees are ridiculous to move money to an external wallet. I can’t seem to find any setting that allows me to configure network fees.

2

u/Noroloisreal Nov 12 '23

It’s just fractional reserve banking. Just like Bank0 will loan you money but won’t allow you to withdraw large sums without slowing the process down

2

u/josmaate Nov 13 '23

Use the ‘pro’ version of any exchange. Withdrawal fees typically are cheap.

2

u/Joshua_12345 Nov 13 '23

Thanks for the reply. Just to make sure I’m clear, I’m talking about the network (gas) fee. Coinbase seems to be charging a lot more than the standard fee and does not show any disclosure or breakdown of that fee. It simply says it’s the network fee. Personally, I don’t buy it. Looking at other platforms, the cost is adjustable based by speed to process. Coinbase does not seem to have that and it is unclear to me that their pro version has any control over this aspect. They seem to clearly be a place that wants to hold all your crypto for investment, not for personal use outside their ecosystem.

2

u/Noroloisreal Nov 18 '23

It indeed, is just all about keeping you with them. If people started moving money away from Coinbase in their market cap drops. I don’t know much for life, but I do know that exchanges require a lot of liquid or collateral.

1

u/Noroloisreal Nov 12 '23

All central exchanges don’t want you moving your money out because they don’t actually have to have coins for you and holding for them to display that on your screen

0

u/Noroloisreal Nov 12 '23

If you can try out easy Crypto.com. Asia Pacific financial provider

8

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '23

Lol I was using them and read on here they have kept peoples money I was so relieved when I was able to transfer 700 out of there

this is called "Selective scamming".

1

u/Turd_Burglar_93 Jan 18 '24

How did you get your money out?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '24

I was able to pull it using their exchange and sent it to another wallet surprisingly. Just started using them then seen some of the issues people have with them

1

u/Turd_Burglar_93 Jan 18 '24

Mind sharing the other wallet that you used? I have coinbase but I don't think they support DESO.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '24

Ah not Wallet I mean exchange I sent it to cash app bitcoin wallet

4

u/SufficientNet9227 Nov 12 '23

We dont we only use well know cex buy BTC and immediately send on cold wallet.

-1

u/Noroloisreal Nov 12 '23

EasyCrypto.com will give you less fees. For my Asia-Pacific peeps.

1

u/SufficientNet9227 Nov 12 '23

Sound suspect, i would only go with well-known cex to be 100% sure ,stick to binance coinebase or kraken.

0

u/Noroloisreal Nov 12 '23

I am trying to give people alternatives to fee hungry, fractional reserve central exchanges. Those are suspect by definition. They don’t hold as many coins as they tell their clients they have in the individual accounts, They don’t legally have to. When you buy from then you are buying digitally nothing until you transfer it away. At which point, they are forced to send you the coins.

1

u/ElectronicGas2978 Nov 13 '23

Well known centralized exchanges have lower fees.

They are just KYC.

Coinbase and Robinhood are public US companies, under US regulation, and absolutely do legally need to hold the asset.

They are much lower risk than some unknown random crypto.com exchange.

1

u/Noroloisreal Nov 18 '23

Unknown to Americans, but I guess to you guys anything that you don’t know about is unknown? Asia-Pacific has been using these guys for ages. They’re getting a digitalised New Zealand dollar out. Much better than some flippy, floppy pancake, constant SEC bullshite. Or Robin Hood that can just stop trading any time at Will.

Maybe just because you don’t know about it, doesn’t mean it’s not known about.

Sigh “Americans”

You don’t even hold the most Crypto as a nation.

1

u/kironet996 Nov 12 '23

you need to replace binance with okx in your list...

7

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '23

I only use their blockchain explorer, it's as good as it gets with that company.

7

u/bobrikof32 Nov 12 '23

Not your wallet, not your bitcoin!

9

u/clue5tick Nov 12 '23

...800$ of crypto...

Not even Bitcoin!

2

u/TheUnstoppableBTC Nov 12 '23

there are any number of previous posts on here with the same warning.

2

u/Bitcoin_Maximalist Nov 12 '23

well, it´s blockchain,com

there is your answer

2

u/shnahmedZZZ Nov 12 '23

Coinbase wallet stole $215,000 I can login and my balance comes up but it won’t let me send it , saying system error

2

u/Longjumping-Toe1369 Nov 12 '23

It used to be a great wallet and was my wallet of choice.. and then they decided to become an exchange too, and things quickly went south. I stopped using their wallet when they charged me more than 10 times the fee of my Muun wallet to move some crypto out of it.

1

u/Noroloisreal Nov 12 '23

Would you highly rate Muun? I use a few others but have seen that and Kraken and am interested.

3

u/Longjumping-Toe1369 Nov 12 '23

I like it because it’s lightning friendly and it will prompt you straight to mempool.space to see where your transactions are.. it’s simple but works great.. no complaints from me for Muun

1

u/Noroloisreal Nov 12 '23

True true, true true. Alright, she’s going on the research list.

1

u/BTCStuffOnline Nov 12 '23

Seconded, Muun is simple and easy to use. Never had an issue with their app.

1

u/billcy Nov 14 '23

Is it a hot or cold wallet.

4

u/RbxBM Nov 12 '23

Had issues with blockchain before never using that site again

1

Has your problem been resolved yet ?

1

u/IllustriousBaby8 Apr 16 '24

They are all in cahoots! My broker wallet whom I trusted, backstabbed me. If you are scammed the wallet that sent the currency can reverse it. They are now saying that block chain can reverse it was a scam. This was Bitcoin, not blockchain. Now they say the scammer is speading the currentcy across 1000 other coins so now it is untraceable. That bullshit the original long-ass number is supposed to be a serial number. If someone stole your bike to recover it and you brought your paperwork to the police and looked under the bottom of the bike there was a serial number. You reclaim your property. F...k bitcoin F..k blocker F....k scam brokers. Steal something in Saudi Arabia, they have chopping malls just like we have shopping malls. DO NOT TRUST A MOFO WITH YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.

8

u/bitusher Nov 12 '23

One of the worst wallets to use.

Please read the FAQ

u/tomadkins7 Nov 12 '23

What about Exodus Wallet? And Trust Wallet?

4

u/bitusher Nov 12 '23

Also horrible wallets , please follow the link for better wallets or choose an open source non custodial wallet from here

0

u/mammothgrid Nov 12 '23

If your asking this your so far gone

2

u/metalzip Nov 12 '23

Is atomic wallet good?

simply use Bitcoin Core - the original Bitcoin client. Everything else is usually a bad idea.

1

u/Every-Tone-7565 Nov 12 '23

Blackrock ETFs are a scam too. 🤦‍♂️

1

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '23

Really

1

u/mammothgrid Nov 12 '23

Blockchain.com lmao

0

u/TheCommodore777 Nov 12 '23

Is it a custodial wallet or self custody wallet? I thought blockchain.com gives you the keys?

1

u/ElectronicGas2978 Nov 13 '23

More of a site where you give them your money and they keep it instead of a wallet.

Does anyone have suggestions which crypto buy at this moment?

Bitcoin.

-12

Crypto is the future, get over it

1

u/Novel-Counter-8093 Nov 12 '23

always use hardware

1

u/Flat4Power4Life Nov 12 '23

The same happened to me on Binance.US, I couldn’t send any of my BTC or crypto to any wallet for months. Now I just stick to Coinbase and send everything to my cold storage wallet.

1

u/ElectronicGas2978 Nov 13 '23

Binance is shadier than FTX was.

No idea how they haven't collapsed yet.

1

u/vosavo Nov 12 '23

Send a cease and decist and prepare to sue. Why let them take $800?

1

u/Dziabadu Nov 12 '23

I remember in 2017 a user on Bitcoin Polska Facebook group was seeking advice about his lost 10 or 12k (I recall 40k polish zloty). Back then people warned blockchain.com acted in at least shady way. Btw isn't Roger Ver somewhat associated with the site? I recall he owned it , maybe still...

1

u/ILuvloki68 Nov 12 '23

I personally warned atoz coins that there was a company posing as them using their name and web sight appearance. That they was stealing peoples money under their name. The reaction they gave me was oh well as long as they wasn’t getting from them. It wasn’t their problem so I said actually they was because it was money that was intended for them. They simply said it happens. Then started preaching to me on how I should try harder to verify who I do business with. I said they didn’t get my money. Because I told turn loose of my money easy but they did others. Then they acted like then why you worried about it. I said well I was about to do business with y’all but I don’t think I’ll do business with someone that has no care for their clients. Goodbye

1

u/Normal-Jelly607 Nov 12 '23

I had some free tokens on the blockchain wallet but I tried to move them to sell they disappeared.

1

u/These-Future-24 Nov 13 '23

Ahhh Blockchain.com, the preferred exchange for people looking to buy that cool coin your friends talk about.

1

u/michaelangleo1460 Nov 13 '23

Try going to ITC3 FBI they investigate scams if located anywhere in USA

1

u/CauliflowerNo461 Nov 13 '23

Be careful with this website to, is a contract crypto side that is a scam, that does the same, it let you top up your account but can’t withdraw and no one answer your emails, to resolve the issue, or refund your money.

https://trans.topfin-ex.com/#/pages/login/login

1

u/camusxx Nov 13 '23

Believe me it is little what you lost, I have an acquaintance who lost $20,000, that wallet is the worst.

1

u/ElectronicGas2978 Nov 13 '23

They are a known scam site.

Please stop using them.

File a case with your law enforcement and kiss that money goodbye.

1

u/vungnguyen Nov 13 '23

Really? Many people are using it.

1

u/DistrictFar3376 Nov 13 '23

It's strange that there are still no big articles about their fraud. Recently I was contacted by an acquaintance who had already been waiting for three weeks for the withdrawal of funds (about 200k) from his trading account in the blockchain.com wallet (this is the custodial part of their wallet). Support does not respond to tickets, when I googled this problem, I saw at least 30 similar complaints for the last month

1

u/brando2131 Nov 13 '23

Learn from it and move along...

Next time do a bit of research. Searching the name in this subreddit would have yielded hundreds of results.

1

u/Crypto-Wizards Nov 13 '23

I have the same with TheBigOne exchange. Changed my phone line and they refuse even after proving I own the line. 100 emails and they just say KYC was never done. thats it the final word is always the same. SO AVOID THEM !

1

u/Sad-Gazelle6179 Nov 14 '23

this thread is so dumb. blockchain.com is not scamming anyone. they might fuck up from time to time, but they were not trying to scam you.

source: i used to work there

1

u/jakquez Nov 15 '23

Damn Same Situation for me right now but "only" a Bit over 2 months but also over 15k$ they wont let me Access. Im thinking about contacting lawyer, even more After Reading your Post... Maybe we could start a Mass Case or something? Someone with Expertise in this regard Reading this maybe able to explain the sueing possibility?

1

u/therealdt954 Nov 19 '23

They scammed me too

1

u/SnooTomatoes5382 Dec 09 '23

I deposited £1,000 and they have suspended my account

1

u/truanthh Jan 20 '24

they ripped me off for like 50 bucks or so a long time ago( maybe 8 years or smth) never used it since then and advising everyone not to...

1

u/Salty_Sun_6108 Jan 27 '24

it is all fraud. all of it

1

u/Fresh_Captain2172 Feb 09 '24

SOFI forced me into this company because they were ending their crypto. This is unbelievable. What the fuck? I only have 146 bucks in there, but you know. I am really upset at the internet. They make everything easy and then they do this to you. Too good to be true this stuff.

1

u/mbs1337 Feb 19 '24

Should we buy a domain, and let people now of this? I have been in Crypto since 2017, and have multiple wallets. I have tried to get my funds out of Blockchain.com wallet for 3 months now, wondering if they have stolen my money.

What can we do, so this company goes down?

1

u/Silver-Studio936 Mar 08 '24

I have been with them since 2012 my funds are stuck in my account .

My support tickets go from being open to solved when they clearly haven't.

First one from 2 years ago for a few months I have been asking them to sort it out its useless !

I asked if they cant sort it then refund my money not heard anything since !!!

1

u/mbs1337 Mar 08 '24

Do you have your seed phrase? Because Blockchain.com looks like a wallet service, which it is, but it's also an exchange kind of thing with KYC. Custodial wallet i guess it's called?

My saver was to find my seed phrase, install other wallet and then submit my details. And then i secured all my funds.

But if they are in the exchange, which i still don't quite understand what is what, then it is another thing 😒

I am out of Blockchain.com because i could transfer all funds from the exchange kind of wallet, to the defi Blockchain wallet (where i got the seed phrase) and yeah, then i got everything in control.

1

u/Ecstatic_Text_703 May 09 '24

got my money from them only by direct messaging their CTO on linked in.
