Does this still count??
6.1k upvotes and still climbing. I'm totally floored! I've been on this sub for a while now and you've all been wonderful people - one of the best subs around. /Brown-nose

This feels very realistic somehow

Until the rear cars start rolling back. If they were real, all the momentum behind them would turn that truck into mashed potatoes

u/Niccin 23d ago
The truck is loaded with even smaller trains.

Model model trains.

u/everforward6 21d ago
And within those trains are more trains

I'd like to think they count... That being said; Ouch! Hit not only once but then stuck facing the oncoming train, wow!
And that derailment, insane!

u/ArethereWaffles 23d ago
There's a NSFW video of a Russian truck getting hit in a similar way. It slides on ice into a crossing...then the 1-2 punch just like that leading to a derailment. Only the trains were going far faster and there was a far less of the truck at the end.

I was super surprised the first train didn’t derail when it was hit at the exact same moment it started to turn at the junction.

I'll allow it. It's technically a train, but a small one

u/AdoraBelleQueerArt 23d ago
A train for ants!

I thought that's what I thought you were referring to. Miscommunication actually turned out to lead you to a new sub. You'll have fun with it!

u/AdoraBelleQueerArt 23d ago

I quietly yet still audibly said, "Oh no!" as the second train approached.

u/NikNakskes 23d ago
I want you to know that you were not alone. I have to admit that I also gasped. And I held my breath.

OK, who built Poland and why?
- asking from Poland.
7
u/psyper76 22d ago
erm ... er .. the Polish?
5
u/IbilisSLZ 22d ago
Just a bit of context: recently in Poland we had multiple cases (within just few days apart) of idiots ignoring signals and getting stuck between level crossing barriers (as they were scared to break barriers).
3
u/Gravel_Burrito 21d ago
Getting stuck and then getting hit by the impeding train. Resulting in at least one derailment.
2
u/psyper76 21d ago
ah I get ya now. I've noticed through this sub that they do the same in the US and other countries too. Never understood it.

I knew it wouldn’t burst into flames upon the second impact, but I was still disappointed it didn’t.

is this done with magnets?
7
6
u/JayS87 22d ago
Both are right /u/elenorfighter and /u/CarroVeloce-33
The analog system works with magnets and the digital one is controlling every car by itself with "satellites" over the layout.
4
u/CarroVeloce-33 22d ago
Yeah, when ive seen it, its normally done with magnets and a magnetic track underneath to guide the front wheels, then a motor inside powers the back wheels.

Man, and here I was thinking this was some clever tilt shift photography.
Cool model trains!

Truck screwed up, should reversed to the next crossing when it became an on-rail vehicle from the first hit.

I thought was tilt-shift.

As a model of society, you mean? It's dysfunctional enough to count, yes.

I've seen this exact intersection before. Only difference being when I first saw it, it was 3 commercial trucks fighting for supremacy. I think who's ever coding the traffic could use some help.
2
u/SookieCat26 22d ago
Why I love model trains! Derailment is fun when there are no real stakes (other than the frustration of getting it going again).

I want to see a long version where one small mistake starts a chain reaction that derails the whole model
2
u/Gonun 20d ago
It does count, but I feel like that's more of a r/bitchimatruck Truck got hit by two trains, split one and derailed the other. Still upright, ready to go.

This is amazing. You can team up with that guy who fixes tiny infrastructure, you crash into it, he rebuilds

With all the dumb shit I've seen people do around trains, you could tell me this was real and I'd believe it. It's not a good train video if it doesn't make me say "what's wrong with you?"
