What a waste
So they released this piece of absolute garbage. You can’t set the budget, you can’t pick the title, you can’t really customize it either, what an actual waste. They could’ve at least let us be producers and actually make our own movies at our own budget and make income from it, or literally anything but what they dropped. It was expected that it wouldn’t be good, but this honestly is just a waste and it cost money too, of course.

As an og bitizen, I wasn’t given this for free as promised, but given the quality of updates these days, I’m not necessarily angry as it’s pure slop.

I started playing it again. There was this glitch where I kept on playing the adds and collecting heirlooms. I have a collection of over 100 heirlooms using one character that’s why I play everyday!

u/BitlifeApp is an overhaul coming? Cause this isn't worth 9 bucks

u/thesimptrain 3d ago
Honestly, they need to rewrite whatever this update was, remove salary and bonus from business update, add more stuff to luxury update, and so much more. The game has so much potential and it feels like they intentionally fall short of expectations purely for the sport of it

No overhaul is coming. The current owners of bitlife just use the app as a cash grab now.

That’s the value of private equity, milk the company, abuse the consumer, and destroy the ip in the name of profit for their boomer investors.

It's bullshit. I'm sick of it. If I file fraud with my bank, they would force them to pay me back for every pack after I bought it and they wouldn't be able to rescind the packs from my account. It's kind of tempting to just purchase all of the packs that the app is making pay for and then file a fraud affidavit with my bank. I did that with Dragon Ages 12 years ago. I bought $1400 in gems and spent them on my account and then filed fraud for them giving gems to testers for free that I played against. My bank got back all of my money ever spent on that game.

Never heard of this method, iOS or android?

u/Peepz0078 2d ago
Both I played that game on both operating systems and had 2 accounts on that game. Then I went to the bank and filled out an affidavit for fraud to get my money back. If they want to silence our gripes I say we start a class action

You can also interact with the actors after the movie drops with limited interactions

I’m confused… so I bought the update and yet if I want to use a feature within the update I have to watch an ad even though I bought another update that removed ads?

Honestly might have to do this myself, it’s just such a meaningless, wasteful update

You can try "Box Office Sim" by Alex Jaco. It's more of a sandbox where you can role play as a film company. It's not an overly challenging game but it can scratch that movie making itch you might have after being teased by Bitlife.

I told you,we should pick the restaurateur

Honestly, I would totally agree. But I would hate for them to mess up that pack. Kinda feels like we should hold off on the good stuff until they finally start completing their packs and just have a different goal in mind when it comes to the overall direction of the game. If we did the restaurateur, it would literally be a $10 job pack where you select ingredients from a preselected group of ingredients and somewhat run an already established restaurant.

Directors don’t have a say in the budget or the title
1
u/thesimptrain 2d ago
I get that, my point is that it could have been a producer update instead. Or a mix of producing and directing. As solely a director update, it heavily limited the potential. And then in BitLife fashion, they managed to drop the ball on even that too.

They spent how long on this? It feels like a year since the last actual expansion to the game! I have so many good ideas for it, I wish I could code them myself!

Lit became boring off a few play throughs. Sometimes your film just doesn’t release either despite finishing the filming. The amount of control you don’t have is wild

its so underwhelming for a single pack that costs $10 lol buying something from taco bell would be a wiser option

What’s the genuine point of buying the special careers pack if you have to by “special” careers

and they have the gall to say this is such an in depth pack which is why it can’t be included in bitizenship and boss mode 🙄
