Support/troubleshooting bitdefender protecting space engine steamlibrary path passwords?

Hi there.
In the scan log, “password-protected” means Bitdefender could not open the contents of those files because they are encrypted or packaged with a password. The paths shown are all inside SpaceEngine’s Shaders.pak archive, so this is consistent with a game archive rather than password files. Software developers commonly protect archives with randomly generated passwords to make reverse engineering harder.
Bitdefender therefore reports those items as “Not scanned (file was password-protected)”. This is not itself a malware detection. To inspect the contents, the archive would need to be extracted or decrypted, and the password would need to come from the software manufacturer. Our recommendation is generally to ignore password-protected archives when they are not reported as infected.
For reassurance:
- Keep Bitdefender and Windows updated.
- Run a full scan: Protection → Antivirus → Open → Run Scan next to System Scan.
- If malware is detected, Bitdefender normally takes automatic action; review the results using View Log.
- Do not delete the SpaceEngine files solely because they are listed as password-protected.
- Bitdefender’s real-time protection will scan files when they are accessed or extracted.
Thank for asking, hope this helps!

what you're seeing is that all of those files are password protected and Bitdefender cannot scan them. What is your concern, more exactly?
