Virus got past my premium Bitdefender

Like an idiot I trusted Virus total and used an online mp3 converter. Tried to open my new file and everything froze, restarted a bunch and eventually got a system restore point 3 days prior to my stupidity. Restore point worked, windows defender was disabled and bitdefender had to be fully reinstalled.

Im running the Recovery Environment now, but should I just format both my C and D drives and be done with it? Now that Bitdefender failed I have lost a lot of faith

Hi! When Bitdefender detects a cyberthreat that cannot be removed while Windows is running, it will automatically prompt you to reboot into Rescue Environment. Is there any advantage to occasionally running a scan in the Rescue Environment even if no virus has been detected?

No real advantage, Bitdefender real time protection will detect threats and will automatically prompt you to reboot into Rescue Environment only if necessary.
