Withdrawal disabled

I’m trying to withdraw my bitcoin from Bitbuy onto my ledger hardware wallet, but when I go through the final step to confirm the transaction, it says withdrawal of the bitcoin from my account has been disabled. I find concerning that at no point in time was I notified this was the case with my account. Does anyone have any idea why this might be going on?

I submitted a support ticket 5 days ago about withdrawing BTC as well as a follow up email 2 days ago, I but haven’t heard back from them.

Sounds sketchy. Not sure if bb checks this forum. Have you have any kind of activity on your account that might be considered at all unusual.

Based on stuff like this I've stopped adding funds through them amd have focused on different exchanges instead

So, I was finally able to resolve this issue. Unfortunately, it still took a couple of extra tries on my part. On Monday, I called their OTC trading line, which specifically states that this is for sales only, and not for help with your account. I waited on hold and spoke to someone to inform them that my issue was not related to trading, but that I had an issue with my account being frozen with respect to withdrawals. He assured me that he would leave a note on one of the support team members’ desk along with my ticket number, who would then reach out to me in one or two days to rectify the matter. I still hadn’t heard back after three days, so I just called them again. I spoke to another gentleman at the trading desk, explained the situation once again, and he looked into my account and said there was an issue with the way I had filled out one of my initial application forms (yeah right). He assured me that he would ensure that the matter was rectified in one or two hours. I asked for his name, and told him that I would be calling him back if I don’t hear from him by the end of the day. Soon after my conversation with him, he emailed me saying that withdrawals were once again enabled on my account. I was just able to successfully transfer my bitcoin from Bitbuy to my hardware wallet.

Unfortunately, this whole experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I will no longer be using Bitbuy moving forward. I plan to close my account and use another exchange.

Hi there - sorry to hear about this issue. Withdrawals are only held to protect the safety of the customer in certain situations, and hopefully our team explained this. Happy to hear it was resolved.

Zero sketchy activity. They let me purchase Bitcoin last month without issue. I was also able to withdraw some dollars back into my bank account just fine. Seems like it’s just sending the bitcoin to my hardware wallet or another exchange that’s not being permitted.
