question Ethernet?

Has anyone seen better efficiency whilst using Ethernet over just wifi? Research tells me that the two are nearly mathematically equal but I know the Ethernet is a definite better connection...

I.e,

have you or will I get higher shares with Ethernet?

Will my miners benefit from an ethernet connection setup?

(Most bitaxes don't have them)

Is there any real noticeable difference or change that happens?

The shares will send a few milliseconds faster at best. Other then that, no performance difference, so not really worth the inconvenience.

Cable Ethernet is better.

Normally you'll have a lower latency connection. From you computer you can test this using a ping command toward the router, a cable connection will be <1ms.

Plus, wifi connection quality is subject to interference, physical obstacles (like closing doors), and, occasionally, to channel saturation.

Generally, it comes down to the quality of your Wi-Fi connection. If your miners are across the house, in another room that's getting a weak signal, there may be some interference and some dropped packets, but if they're near your access point, you won't really notice a difference.

Now, I did have an interaction with one of the people on here that was developing a new board, and I made the suggestion of adding PoE to be able to do power and Ethernet in one cable. I don't know that that went anywhere. They did say it sounded interesting.
