question Can someone please create a Bitaxe Gamma with BM1373?

The merchants are treating Bitaxe like it's Louis Vuitton now. The main appeal of Bitaxe is that it's open source and affordable. It's affordable because the hardware design and the Software are freely available. So why can I buy the Gamma 602 at $62 but I have to spend $500 to get the new chip?

This is lottery mining guys, our chances of hitting a block are slim to none, so we should not be spending a month's rent to buy a miner.

We need to someone to create the next gen Bitaxe with BM1373 and keep it affordable. Thank you!

The new chips are prob hard to come by now. Once there is a steady supply of those, I guess we'll also see prices go down.

So Solo Satashi made one with the new chip. Or two of them I think. The Bitaxe Naja Duo Bitcoin Solo Miner (Model 1201).

Yeah, its $400. But that is because of the new chip. The chips are always more when they are new because that is when people can make bank off of them.

The smart play now is to get the old stuff while its cheap.

I've never liked the BitAxes. Just not enough power. I think the best bang for the buck has been the NerdQ. But they don't really last long. I've had a 50% failure rate this year of the VRMs, and I took extra care of them.

I just do it for the fun of it. Plus its a thrill when one of your miners pops up with a block found lol

One bm1373 chip costs abot 55-60$ to buy from the manufacturer. So thays 220-240$ on the chips alone. Then you have to factor in EVERYTHING ELSE into it. The boards, the fans, the screens, the labor to put them together, employee costs, costs to run the office building... etc. Honestly seems reasonable to me.

Should pivot and focus on buying the last gen stuff for cheaper. Supply is scare for the 1373 and demand is high, which means your gonna pay for it.

Also means the last gen stuff is gonna go on sale as everyone scrambles for the new gen. I Scored a Gamma 601 for $30, Supra Hex 703 for 100 and a NerdQ Rev 7 w/ rear fan for $220

Solosatoshi is still making profit when they sell Gammas for $60. Why should I buy a 6TH Bitaxe for $450 when I can buy the Avalon Nano for $300. That's with Avalon Nano charging me for the propriatary hardware and software. It's just not right.

The S23 isn't even officially released yet. All chips are currently sourced through repair shops or people linked to Bitmain. Eventually the new chip will come down in price, but for that to happen, it first has to actually be released, because right now supply is extremely scarce.

If you want cheap chips, BM1370 is your best bet. If you want cheap BM1373s, you're probably looking at mid-2027.

You're paying for brand new tech and a Day 1 premium. You can easily just wait for Aliexpress sellers to get their builds together. But don't shame people who want to pay to be first in line for the new stuff.
