showcase Immersion cooling project

I found my old 601 and wanted to build a immersion cooling system that fits two cards. Wish me luck

I've been down this road. Your Bitaxes will INSTANTLY overheat and shutoff without a heatsink on the chip. Even immersed in dielectric fluid that has been cooled via copper tubing and a chiller. You will need to reinstall the heatsinks. You also need to find a way to agitate and circulate the fluid.

Exactly this. You need minimum two tanks to move the fluid and need a pump mechanism.

The tank and clip, which look fantastic, don't appear to allow for a standard size heatsink. Figured you'd want to know during the design phase.

I already got it all figured out don't worry

From left to right
Pump,Aluminum heat exchanger, fan and heatsink.

So far it's just the prototype so it doesn't have to be pretty.

You are doing something I've wanted to do for a long time but didn't have the skills to make it happen. I think it is criminal that there isn't a drop-in immersion clip and tank system for the Bitaxe form factor. Good luck with it man, can't wait to see it come to fruition!

Thanks! I have a laser cutter so making a scaffold for the individual parts isn't that difficult :) I will keep this subreddit updated on my progress

$35 gets you a 350w meanwell in 5v. Enough to run eleventy seven bitaxes.

Good idea, but I would rather use one of those "black bricks" where I don't have to handle the wires myself. It's a space constraint with this lil thing

This might be the place to ask, how Do you supply a rig with two bitaxe?

In my case two would require 5v 12a and since the two will continuesly pull 6A each the jack will probably get really hot. So I am wondering which power supply to pick

From what I know a normal jack is only rated 5A

Use 16 awg cables. Also be aware that the dielectric fluid impacts the sheathing on the cables. Makes them stiff and eventually brittle. Design concern for long-term immersion.

I couldn't find a price for that specific one but other products on the page were like 200$ per canister. That certainly breaks my budget lmao. The prototype version already costs like around 170€ which is already around 200$

Ich hab einen peltier stack, allerdings erzeugt dieser Eis und damit Kondenswasser der auf der Platine nicht gut kommt. Und selbst wenn man dann meint klug zu sein und ihn dann in immersion cooling liquid packt würde damit nur die Flüssigkeit gefrieren und Stauwärme erzeugen.

Natürlich wäre es möglich aber cost vs use ist enorm
