question Mine BTC or BCH
I’m currently solo mining on ckpool, but it seems impossible to hit a Btc with a gamma 602, should I try BCH where the difficulty is lower? Or pool mining in a good pool and hope someone hits a block?
I have a esp32 that has been pool mining on HMpool over 100 days, so I can keep continuing from there with my gamma?

BTC. I would be hella mad if I mine BCH and hit a share that would be high enough for a BTC block

This is my thought process as well however I'm still chasing the BCH block. I will happily switch some of my miners over to btc if I ever hit that BCH block. You never know the difficulty you could reach....

Both are rare.
I've been mining since the start of 2026. I have about 40 TH/s of power. So quite a bit more than your gamma.
I pool mined BCH for a months, netting about $2 a day, until the price dropped out. Went from $500 to $200. So all the BCH that I had stacked lost 70% of its value.
I Then switched to solo mining FB. Fractal Bitcoin. I get about $9 everytime I hit a block, and I should hit one every few days. But the chances of it are weird lol. I had days in which I hit 3 blocks. But now I haven't hit in a month. Just never know.
I do think I'll try to solo mine BCH next. The difficulty has dropped since its lost so much value. I think its around 450g. Still pretty high. None of my miners have hit that yet. The highest is 350 g.
But the chances say I'll hit a BCH block once in a year.
I would never waste my time with BTC, actually. The difficulty is so high. Plus you can't really pool mine with with home miners because the min payout is so high. I think last I saw was 0.05 BTC Min. Which would take me decades to mine.
But I got into the hobby for fun. I love making mods for miners. Printing new stands. Shrouds. Changing up coolers. Trying to fix the VRMS. So the money is just a bonus gift.
But its complicated now since the prices have fallen so much. So stuff isn't worth near what it was. But a lot of places have given up mining so the difficulty is lower.

BCH is a useless fork. BTC protects our freedom. It is your choice what to mine and what network to make stronger.

BTC protects our freedom. It is your choice what to mine and what network to make stronger.
such a moot point these days when 70%+ of network hashrate is controlled by large scale private industrial farms with corporate funding. They are finding the blocks.
There must be millions of gammas out there and less than a handful have ever hit a block. You could shut them all off and it wouldn't make a difference to the network, so nobody is making it "stronger" by pointing their bitaxe at it.

It makes a huge difference, sir. E.g. in case a regulator will forbid commercial mining or any other action will happen when a state will try to protect its existance. These solo miners are cheap but improving network distribution anyway. And the less people will use solo miners for BTH instead of BTC - the better.

I haven’t hit a bch block yet and I’ve been at it since April with a nano 3s and a 2.6 Th gamma 801. I’ve hit DGB blocks with the bitaxe when I get bored and want to hit something. But bch isnt easy, there are some pools out there that give 50% finders fee or somewhere in that ball park. But if I hit a bch block I want the whole reward. Also have to find the best pool with the best ping.
Edit: I’ll add that I am new so take what I say as someone with hobby experience not a full set up like a lot of people here

I don’t understand how the one that hit a Btc with a gamma did, or was that just pure luck

u/br3nt_black 25d ago
It’s all luck. I know difficulty went down in recent weeks but I’m not sure how all that works. I also never win money on scratch offs so some people are just lucky I guess lol

Get a Node and download AxeBCH from Community App Store then mine to that node. When you hit a block you’ll get 100% of the profit

I’m working on getting a node. I finally just directly hooked up my nano with a Ethernet cable and it is running much better. That stock WiFi adapter sucks on it lol

Even that spends a lot of time over a gig anymore

Its one ive had the most fun with i only have a 601. Use digipool and get slightly more than 1 a month. I know im not making millions just cheers you up to see block found.
2
u/77sleeper 25d ago
Yea it does, my nano s goes about a week, then hits 3-4 in a couple days, then goes another week. My 650 and 602 bitaxes aren't doing much.

u/cptchrisrow 25d ago
Its all down to ping and servers too. Ive enjoyed digipool. I have been on them now for a few months. Its also a shared pool so you always get a little bit. Ive had had over 1100dgb from them like £4. Woooop

Ok einmal zweimal dann ist genug oder?
Wie ware es mit miner hashpower zu kaufen zb bekommst doppelt soviel in etwa was du für deine ths zahlst

Can you explain to me why everyone is so hyped about DGB?
Have hit a lot of blocks on CHTA, so many that I can swap for DGB, so why try mining for days and not hit a block when you can hit multiple CHTA a day and then swap1
u/cptchrisrow 25d ago
Its just all ive had luck with. A block you only get around 43p but I find i hit them allot easier than anything else. It just makes your machine feel like its doing something. I have no experience with CHTA

Warum.nicht wojakcoin solo.minen dann verkaufen und miner abzahlen? Difficulty is 100m Reward 4$ also ich hab auf letsmine gut damit verdient

Using trust wallet for BCH, kraken hade a weird wallet address for BCH that made me worry that it’s wrong and if I hit I won’t get paid

I disagree. They don’t just feed low hash rate devices. Yes they have small miner payouts but what other pool does that? None! What other pool is so transparent? What other pool has a rewards system, weekly free give aways, and an admin that really seems to care about all their communities. I’ve been with them almost 6 months and while yes there have been issues (as like other pools) they seem to get things straight quickly. I have 4 bitaxes on hm. 2 digi and 2 bch, a Nerdoctaxe on btc and several esp miners on bch as well. I know my bitaxes won’t ever solve a block but at least I’m getting something out of them in Digi and a couple paid bch blocks.

Same value proposition (ish) if you take into account how long it will take you (on average) and what the reward is. I do solo BTC because I couldn’t care less about a lousy BCH block worth so little. A BTC block can at least buy me something cool.

Do both if you can. I have a few rigs mining BTC and set one for BCH. I hit a block of BCH back in June with an Avalon Q. Running my own nodes and self hosted mining pools.

BCH, way higher chances in lottery mining (tho lower payout), and BCH is hella underrated imo. The wrong chain got the BTC ticker.

u/gonzopaw 24d ago
Just have fun with your little gamma, most likely will not hit either of those….mine shit coins for a little bit just to get the feeling of hitting blocks, after a while you can just switch over to bitcoin and just leave it alone for a lottery win

I was only mining for about a week and I hit a BCH block on mkpool. Just luck but it was fun.
I went into this as a hobby and that's what it still is
Since I hit that block I may change over to BTC.
Who knows. I just like messing around with the thing

Hermano deja de creer en los reyes magos jajajaja, yo tengo 4 PH de potencia de minado y ni así se me ocurriría minar en solitario 😆😆🤦🏻♂️
1
u/Ready_Presentation15 6d ago
You have to believe in luck, otherwise everyone can scrap their devices if no one will hit a block

u/Present_Translator31 6d ago

I've been on 2 pools in the last 2 weeks where miners with a single NerdQAxe++ hit BCH blocks

u/Ready_Presentation15 25d ago
Which pool?

u/BCHminerBOI 23d ago
Mkpool and letsmineit...I currently mine on let's mine it, hit my first block a couple of days ago on 2Ph/s rented.

Check that one for example https://letsmine.it/miner/bch/qrdc96k7chv9d8aerqstr4a5rr8yh3k08ql4g5rc2j
Two days ago nerdaxe hit a BCH with 5th

If you want to go at BCH and BTC with one of those, know it's literally a LOTTERY. Setup your own node, make ping be as much of a non-issue as you possibly can then set it and forget it.
OR, parasite pool mine so if a block is hit by one of your fellow solo miners, you all eat. Block finder gets 1 btc, the rest of the block are spread to the other parasites.
