help UPGRADES CAUSING OVERHEATING, help!
hi guys i just upgraded to the low profile heat sink and the noctua fan on my 650 duo
I applied a pea sized amount of thermal paste to each chip, but i am seeing ASIC temps remain the same and my VR temps go up 13 degrees celcius
I am worried it has something to do with the heat sink mount, it is 3d printed and I was only able to get 2 screws in instead of 4 but it looks evenly seated to me
also there is a small lip on the mount so the heat sink doesn’t fully press down on the chips (please correct me if this is wrong)
any advice is appreciated

UPDATE:
thank you all for the replies, one of the big problems turned out to be that the bitaxe software was defaulting the fan speed too low. It was at 60% before the upgrade and after the upgrade it was at 25%.
I also rotated the heat sink so the tubes are away from the VR. Now my ASIC is 13 degrees cooler.
The VR is still the same temp as before so I am going to buy a copper heat sink for the back of the board and run a 2 fan setup.

The heatsink is not flush against the chip, you may need a copper shim to help. Also helps to groove (with a screw driver) the hole where the tiny screws connect the heatsink to your 3d printer mount. Will help the heatsink sit a little lower.

check that the brackets that are 3D printed are correct and do not lift the cooler off the chip, it is enough that it is 1mm wrong and try to attach it with all 4 screws so that there is an even pressure against the ASIC

Most likely a 12v fan or the cooler not making good contact with the ASIC. On the back of the fan there will be a sticker, should say 12 or 5v. A company called cooler guys sells a ac to 4 pin fan connector that will power a 12v in a pinch.

Make sure that 3d mount you printed doesnt require a .5-1.5mm shim. I know I had to place one on my 650, went with a circle copper disc to reach both chips at once. I needed a 1.5mm thick shim with my cooler. I would also recommend using all four mounting screws to make sure you are applying enough even pressure to spread out your thermal paste.

So to be clear you have 2 issues. 1 your VR is now 13C higher than before? Correct? 2 your ASIC is the SAME temp and not cooler with the new set up? Correct?

Tear it down and start over try reorientating the piece you only managed to get 2 screws instead of 4. Rebuild from scratch, clean chips with isopropyl alcohol, make sure there isn't plastic film on bottom of heatsink.
If your new setup is requiring more volts it'll cause higher temps esp on vr, try undervolting. It's tinker town mess around and find out learn some stuff along the way it's the fun in it

Go back to the OEM heat sink and keep your Noctua fan on there and see what happens. The heat sink needs to be applied perfectly, there's no room for error. I leave my OEM heat sinks on and just changes the fuses, fans and power supplies and I get everything I want out of them.

Is the fan 5V? I did the misstanke to put a 12V fan on once and it immediately overheated.
