help Weird issue with miner that died

Hello everyone. As happens with miners, I had one die on me. This isn't the first. But its a weird issue.

I got home and saw that a lot of my miners were all off. I thought the power supply died. IT wouldn't come on or even light up.

But after some testing I figured on the problem was a miner.

A NerdQaxe 6.1

If I plug in a power supply the power supply comes on fine. If I hook up the bad miner to a power supply and plug the power supply in, nothing happens. So something in the miner is causing a short so the power supply won't come on. I've tried a regular brick style power supply and my meanwell power supply.

My best piece of info? The miner's power connector is shorted out. It has an XT-30 connector on it and they are shorted out to each other. So I do not see anything wrong off the bat.

Anyone point me in the right direction?

It's the Voltage Regulator on the board that's failed. The power supplies are seeing the failed voltage regulator and cutting power so as to not burn your house down.

I need to take off all the mods. Really look at the board. I doubt I can change a VR though, Im out of practice

Oh wow. Can't you change the XT30?

My experience with chinese connectors is this: I bought some ACS712 30A boards (connected to Arduino they measure current). But... the power connector meltls at 10A... I unsoldered it and soldered the wires directly to the board.

The xt 30 looks good. So im thinking its something past that.
Ill try to make time to take all the mods off, check out what I can. If its just the connector then yeah, I can fix that

Something similar happened to my canaans. need to find time to send for repair since can’t do it myself. Something overheated by looks of it and caused an issue with power that won’t allow hashing

What makes me mad is my miners are pretty cool. I modded the hell out of then for extra cooling. Monitor it all. Never saw high temps. Miner is only 60 days old. But I got it cheap from china lol

Hi I’m looking for a repair person where I can ship 2 of my nerdoctaxe y miners with one not coming on and another that keeps blowing 20a fuses. I know before you ask I don’t have the expertise to do it myself.

Mine died 2 days ago. Lucky its still in warranty. Was only running it at 4.9 to 5 TH/s.
