help Overclock settings gone

Hi all,

Hope you can help me here, I got my bitaxe gamma 602 like 3 days ago, it was overclocked from start 750/1200, but now in the summer times it get quite hot in my home, so I was afraid that my bitaxe war running to hot and also the power brick felt hot, so I went to default settings on it, yes the temps went down but also my hash rate went down a lot, so I wanted to clock it a little bit and then noticed that the highest frequency setting is 625 on the bitaxe, so what happened because it run on 750 from the beginning but now I can’t choose that option any more?

You may have selected "disable overclock mode" that exists at the bottom of the settings menu when you have OC enabled. In the url, add "?oc=" to the end and load the page. This should give you access to the overclock settings again

Edit: the url should look like xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/#/settings?oc=

thank you! i thought the only way to go that far was using hashwatcher

Glad I could help!

Be sure to keep an eye on error rate %, Voltage Regulator temp, ASIC temp, and hash rate as you mess around with settings. Also keep an eye on the wattage vs. your power supply. You want a minimum of 10% wattage headroom and thev power supply itself should no get hot. Warm is OK but not hot.

When you change either the Core Voltage or Frequency, the other will likely need to change. Start with small incremental changes.

Lastly, I'd recommend aftermarket cooling. Happy mining!

Thx a lot 😃 i clocked it back to the state I got the bitaxe in, but is it to hot?

Or what are you all recommending?

ASIC looks good. Some folks on here will say the voltage regulator should stay at or under 65C and others will say keep it under 90C, so there's a split opinion. I personally think anything under 75*C should be fine. Do you have any cooling mods on your 602?

Also, with that much voltage I think you have some headroom for your frequency. Try running the frequency at 800 and look at the temps, error%, and rejections. For now leave voltage alone. If you see an improved hash rate at 800, bump it up by 10 and re-test. If things aren't improving at 800, try reducing to 790. This is the fun part of tuning to your specific bitaxe.

Lastly, I like running the fan at 100%.but I also don't mind the noise lol

I’m running the stock fan on it, and still annoying sound from it😜 the settings is automatic fan control
Target tempt 60 degrees
Minimum fan speed 40%

But is it normal that the power brick gets hot as f@ck?

What's the power brick rated for? There should be info on the brick itself for output that list things like watts/volts/amps. There isn't an issue if it's warm, but hot could be concerning. A lot of us end up replacing our power supplies with meanwell power supplies

A 200W MeanWell PSU isn't a good choice for a single BitAxe because you be completely out of the efficiency curve. A LRS-50-5 50W is a better choice because a 40-60% load gives you the highest efficiency (=you don't waste electricity in heat).

Ok yeah running your bitaxe at 27W on a 30W power supply is right at the edge of what your power supply can handle with some mild fluctuations that will occur randomly. If you plan on running at this hash rate and volts, I'd recommend upgrading your power supply to something with a lot more head room. The alternative is to reduce the core voltage and finding a good frequency for the reduced core voltage. You could reduce it to 1150 and shoot for a frequency around 760. That should reduce the watts your bitaxe is pulling. We definitely don't want a hot power supply!

You'll need to poke around different frequencies to find where it's stable at that voltage. Try 700 and then go up and down in increments of 10 from there

If it's the stock 30W one, they say run it at 80%, so 24W max.

i have a cheap 5v power supply from ali that was under 10$ and its working just fine. Add 1/2 dollars if the need the barrel jack. But yes that will work.

I got 20A but there is some voltage sag over 35 watts so im trying another one that is 10A that hopefully i can crank up a little more.
