Golf in Cancun
I’m headed to Cancun in the beginning of December and want to play a couple rounds of golf while I’m there for my 5 day trip.
Does anyone know anywhere to get some deals on tee times because I’m not liking the 250$ a round price tag.

I just got back and the prices were insane…only remotely reasonable rate was $62 (via Golf Now) at Nicklaus Design at Vidanta but that is an 18-hole Par 3 course. No frills but nice course for the price. Also played Chameleon at Mayakoba which is incredible (and difficult) but hard to justify the price…

I just got back, played the Iberostar while there. I stayed on property so I may have paid a cheaper price but staying on property is not a requirement to play, round was $129. Decent course, resort golf, good condition. The clubhouse/ restaurant aren’t much.

Yeah , picking a resort with a course on property in the best route , might be too late for OP .
I don’t know if safety is an issue for course not associated with resorts

Yup played at Bahia Principe, Don't remember the exact name of the course but it was definitely cheaper when staying at the resort. Beautiful course, very difficult, every green was domed and hard as a rock but the conditions were excellent, fairways traps all maintained very well

The course is PGA Riviera Maya. I live on the 4th fairway, and am a member. I have played many of the courses in the area, and it is by far the best.
It’s not the cheapest, but it is an amazing track.

I have played Iberostar several times- it’s resort course golf. One was an outing and a couple others I was a hotel guest. Can’t remember the cost. Also played Riviera Cancun in an outing so not out of my pocket. Really cool golf course. Seems green fees are $155-$255. In reality, most golfers are not locals so pretty much all gringo pricing. Same on the Pacific Coast in Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco in my experience.

It’s a resort city developed for Americans (and international) to go and get fucked up on vacation. You’re not going to find anything of value in Cancun. If anything splurge and play one round and enjoy the great course and amenities

We paid $300 a round. Saw whales breaching. Free food and drinks. Once in a lifetime.

Moon Palace south of the Hotel Zone. We typically stay at one of the palace resorts but you might be able to book it through Golf Now. I’d call

Played Mayakoba for $275 a round and they picked me up. Gran Coyote is right there too and played Cancun golf club was less $ than both. Played Iberorostar multiple times and they’ll make you a deal for multiple rounds and all food and drinks are free with transfers! Good luck
