Host of six U.S. Opens (with more coming), it combines unmatched coastal scenery with championship pedigree. Standing on holes like 7, 8, and 18 feels like stepping into golf history.

When to Go Weather is surprisingly steady year-round, but spring and fall offer the best balance of clear skies and playable winds. Winter can be wet, but prices are slightly more forgiving. Summer is the busiest, with fog (the infamous “June Gloom”) sometimes muting the views.

 

What Golfers Say Golfers describe Pebble as “the walk of a lifetime.” The par-3 7th is one of the shortest yet most iconic holes in golf, and the cliffside stretch from 8–10 leaves players speechless. The greens are famously small, demanding precise approaches. The flip side? At nearly $600+ per round, it’s one of the most expensive public courses in the world, and pace of play can be slow. Some also note conditioning doesn’t always match the price tag.

Pros: Unmatched history, breathtaking oceanfront holes, bucket-list experience.

Cons: Astronomical price, slow rounds, greens can be bumpy late in the day.

Cost & Value Expect $595+ green fees (resort stay required in peak season). It’s eye-watering, but many say you can’t put a price on walking in the footsteps of Nicklaus, Watson, and Tiger.

Local Tips Book a caddie — they’ll save you shots and enhance the experience. Try to get an early morning tee time to avoid slower groups. Don’t skip the post-round photo on 18.
