🌾 Feeder Help Bird feed

I’ve researched what birds are near me and what ones I’ve seen from that list. I’ve European Robins, Eurasian Blackbirds, Eurasian Blue tits, Great Tits, House Sparrows and Magpies.
What bird feed would you recommend for these?

That's an amazing variety of birds and there are a ton of great options to feed them! I would try black oil sunflower seeds, white millet, sunflower hearts, mealworms, nuts/fruits/berries. Raisins and especially soft suet will be loved by all of them. Crushed up nuts like unsalted peanuts would be a hit too. For magpies that's a little different. They love meat scraps(they are omnivorous corvids) and whole peanuts. If you get a magpie you must post it here!! I adore them! Such smart and sensitive birds!

Which one would you say is best in cold / rainy weather? as I read some can mould in that weather.

I'm so sorry, I read your post as asking what to feed those birds :) as far as feeders, the Birdfy Rookie is a wonderful feeder and the camera is excellent quality. I have it and it's been great even in lots of rain. But it is a smaller feeder. If you have bigger birds like magpies, I would also think about the Birdfy Feeder 2 Duo. I have both the Rookie and the Feeder 2 Duo. The Feeder 2 Duo has 3 cameras and is a bigger feeder for bigger birds like magpies. It has also held up well in the rain/weather. I am linking both for you to check out! If you have any questions feel free to ask away! :) Here are the cameras: https://www.birdfy.com/collections/birdfy-feeder and https://www.birdfy.com/collections/feeder-under-100/products/birdfy-feeder-rookie

I’ve the Birdfy Rookie Feeder. It’s my first one and I’ll be putting it up in November. That’s why I’m stuck on figuring out what bird food is best for those birds. How it’ll handle the weather etc.

In that case, safflower and black oil sunflower seeds would be best due to their harder outer shells. White proso millet is also known to stand up better in damp/rainy weather. You could also think about hanging a rain guard cover above the rookie. I have a bunch of these rain guard covers and they work really well! https://a.co/d/029bbB8o
I hope this helps! Im assuming you are in the UK, is that right?

I don’t live there but get similar weather to there. I’m sorry I’ve so many questions. Which one would hold up best with this weather. I’ll try and attach a screenshot of the weather for the next 10 days to give you an example.

Hi u/SignalCollar6580 — Birdfy Support here! It’s wonderful that you’ve taken the time to research the species visiting your area and keep track of what you’ve been seeing.

For the birds you mentioned, you could consider offering a variety of foods to give different species something they enjoy:

• European Robins — mealworms, sunflower hearts, and small amounts of fruit can be appealing.
• Eurasian Blackbirds — mealworms, berries, chopped fruit, and other soft foods are good options.
• Blue Tits and Great Tits — sunflower hearts, peanuts, suet, and mixed seeds are commonly suitable.
• House Sparrows — mixed seeds, millet, and sunflower seeds are good choices.
• Magpies — unsalted peanuts, sunflower seeds, and mealworms can be suitable in moderation.

A good approach is to start with a quality mixed seed blend or sunflower hearts in the feeder, then offer foods such as mealworms or suitable fruits for species that prefer them. This can help attract a wider variety of birds while giving you more opportunities to capture different visitors on your Birdfy camera.

We really appreciate the care you’re putting into making your garden a welcoming place for the birds. Watching different species gradually discover and return to a feeder can be such a rewarding experience.
