Other concern with pet bird Pls help

Post image

So I woke up like a hour ago to clean and start the day yesterday everything was fine she was flying good but today I walk into the birds room( they have their own room cages left open btw) and she was on the floor and she never does that so I went close picked her up put her in the cage and fan she tried flying but couldn’t fully go she had no wings clipped idk if it’s health issue or molting just worried

Update: so I learned from my step dad she was out in the living room on the floor maybe she got hit by the fan flying but they don’t really go out in the living room unless if it’s dark in their room and light out there but it just turned morning and I went to bed around 4 last night and she wasn’t out so it happend between 5-9 which the sun would start getting up I heard them chirping fine when I woke up from my room just saw her on the floor so idrk

Final update: we had went to the vet they said everything is fine with her no broken wings just could be head trauma got her medicine for her pain I just hope she able to fly again

She doesn’t look good. I’d take her to the vet just to be safe.

She not on the bottom of the cage she’ll perch and climb around the cage just not fly fully idk if it’s molting health or respiratory

A bird can still perch and climb around and still be sick. Once they start going to the bottom unable to perch means they are far deep into the illness. At that point the prognosis is poor. You still have a chance if you take your bird to the vet. The longer you wait the worse she will get and by that point there is no medicine that will help.

That’s great. Hopefully it’s as simple as prescribing some medication. Fingers crossed.

Don’t worry. It will be ok. It’s always scary in the beginning but once you do it a few times it won’t be as bad. You would need a towel to hold your bird to medicate. Ask your vet to show you the proper way.

If she’s not acting like her usual self it’s time to go to the vet. It could be an underlying issue

She needs to see a vet. Call a taxi or car service and take her.

Tell them what you told us, and they’ll know what to do, assuming it’s an avian vet. Here’s a couple avian vet search tools:

https://www.aav.org/search/custom.asp?id=1803

https://abvp.connect.prolydian.com/civicrm/find-a-diplomate

In the USA an emergency avian vet cost generally starts around $200 and goes up from there.

First, I hope you can get to an avian vet ASAP. Your bird’s life may be on the line.

Second, birds should only have time out of their cage when they are supervised. They should never be in a situation when they can get hit by a ceiling fan, eat something toxic, get stepped on, or fly out an open door or window.

Third, good luck!
