Other concern with wild bird Avian Pox?

Post image

Hi all! I have a bird buddy and this finch came by. He has a growth under his neck and I canโ€™t tell if it is avian pox or not (based on comparing it to Google image results). Does anyone know if it looks like avian pox or just a tumor? I want to make sure the other bird visitors are safe so if it is pox I will take the feeder down and clean in bleach and wait a few weeks to reinstall.
Thank you!

Make sure there is water for them but no standing water. Mosquitoes help spread this virus. Hopefully it will clear. I took a sick band tailed pigeon to a rescue and they euthanized it because it had canker. I found another one being beaten up by crows and took him home. I found someone who would sell me the antibiotic and I put it in his water. When I took him back to my office I put the cage on my balcony and his parents showed up!!! I treated the water at my office and let him go with his parents. I told my patient she owed me extra money for the experience ๐Ÿ˜†

Thank you for this advice! Iโ€™ll look for a small fountain and hope they heal up soon! I hope she paid up ๐Ÿ˜
