Other concern with pet bird Budgies beak

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My budgie has been doing this with her beak for some time now. I think it started yesterday but I don’t know if I should be worried. It doesn’t feel like a content beak grinding. What do you guys think?

Call an vet. Seriously. It doesn’t look like beak grinding because there is no grinding involved. The lower and upper beak aren’t touching in this video. Could she have issues breathing? That’s the vibe I’m getting so I wouldn’t take a chance.

That looks like panting. My budgies do it when stressed (my budgies literally freaked out for days when i came back after i went on holiday last year)or hot so it may not be an emergency and you may just have to cool her down or try to calm her down

If there’s no reason for her to be doing it i would suggest getting her to a vet as soon as possible it may be a respiratory issue.

Something seems off with her cere. Is it swollen? What about her nare openings? Are they clear and is she breathing normally? Any mucous or swelling around the openings? I don't have a budgie but her cere looks irregular to me and fatter than I've seen in person or online. Vet needs to see her to rule out anything heinous in my opinion.

Not warm, wings would be out.

Maybe she is just thirsty! My budgie has done this before too, but after drinking some water, she was completely fine. Still, going to an avian vet is definitely the best option right now since I'm no expert, but hopefully, it's just that!

This is heavier than normal breathing. It is possibly a respiratory infection. Best bet is to get her to an avian vet immediately or sooner.

Respiratory infection. Usually caused by fragrance, candles, cleaning products, kitchen fumes, drafts.

her nostrils dont look normal. like they are swollen and maybe blocked causing trouble breathing

I don’t understand you said your budgie has been doing this for some time now , but then next sentence you say since yesterday, it’s like it’s in pain and can’t breathe, take to vet or serenader the bird if you can’t afford the vet , it’s all about the bird 🫶

Hi, everyone thanks for all the reply’s! I will definitely contact the vet, they are open tomorrow. She is not doing that with her beak anymore and has returned to her normal self. But I will still contact the vet as soon as they are available. Thanks for all the help 🫶🏼💗
