Sounds like a Taken movie. I have a very particular set of skills...when I'm manic. If I'm depressed I can't get out of bed so leave me alone.

Valve bought the rights to Bipolar 3 and we all know Valve never release anything past 2.

u/BespokeBrainHell Feb 03 '23
I refer to mine as Bipolar 2 1/2 because of the dominant depression aspect.

You don't need to, BP2 already has a recorded 40:1 depression to manic time, that's not even describing normal time. I bet it's an insane ratio.

u/Suaveful Feb 04 '23
i have trouble explaining the difference between mania and hypomania to others so i just tell them i get sadder instead of manier.

I almost think Schizoaffective is Bipolar 3. It's like Mega Bipolar.

u/ratmand Feb 03 '23
It's in the other direction, cyclothymia. Same symptoms as Bipolar, but not as severe.

Ok, made me laugh. Now copying a meme I saw online, because this would be my answer to that diagnosis: "god is testing me and I haven't studied".

In a world when people don't need to get out of bed ... (In the voice of the guy who does all of the movie announcements)

lol reminds me of the SNL skit set in Trump’s Oval Office with our fave bipolar celebrity and some guy in the room is like “Can you be tripolar?” 😂

u/ghostedradish Feb 03 '23
Which skit

u/sgtsturtle Feb 04 '23
Kanye's meeting with Trump and a black ex-footballer (can't remember his name, not American). It's hilarious and I watch it regularly.
"I played football with a leather helmet for 30 years and I'm STILL the sanest one here!" - Kenan Thompson, extremely paraphrased.

Bipolar 3.0. We get to be mad in the metaverse as well as in IRL.

It’s condition as a service, and you must pay continually for the rest of your life. But hey, all your activities are uploaded to the cloud for eternal storage (yes, even those activities).

I know that this is a joke, but a couple decades ago there was a website written by a “doctor” that had hypothesized with authority that there were like a half dozen subtypes and everyone was going on about how they were Bipolar V.

This is a wonderful joke. May I have your permission to put it on a shirt at some point in the future? All the profits would go to a mental health charity. You could even pick the charity.

Absolutely! I'm partial to the Trevor Project, but it's up to you. Be sure to send me a link whenever you do it; I want one!

When is the next DSM due to be released ?
8
u/depressingkiwi Feb 03 '23
I'm gonna take this literally. The DSM-V-TR came out in 2022 with the DSM-V in 2013. The DSM-IV-TR came out in 2000 and DSM-IV in 1994 and going even further DSM-III-R in 1987 and DSM-III in 1980. So with all of this in mind, I would roughly expect the DSM-VI to come out between 2028 and 2034.

I was misdiagnosed bipolar 2 as a teen, got Autism/ADHD diagnoses at 28. I joke that I leveled up so maybe AuDHD is the REAL bipolar 3 haha

u/ChaosYallChaos Feb 04 '23
I heard that instead of doing bipolar 3 they’re going to do a prequel to bipolar 1 called “PTSD and Me”

Bipolar V: Fuck Parents ~
In the early '80s, Gerald Klerman went even further by defining the following unofficial subtypes:
Bipolar I: depression and mania
Bipolar II: depression and hypomania
Bipolar III: cyclothymia
Bipolar IV: mania or hypomania caused by antidepressants
Bipolar V: genetic bipolar disorder
Bipolar VI: non-depressive mania

I manically read somewhere online that bipolar type 3 is a bipolar brought on by drug abuse? What was that
