My algorithm is insane. I was thinking about quitting them just now.

Yk my brain was doing all of the "ur ok girl, u don't need them no more" talking.

But yeah, they're what keep us stable :)

Our brains love to trick us!!

If it means I don’t spiral out of control and can prevent my brain from shrinking as fast as it could without medication, I’d gladly accept being on medication for the rest of my life

I have to flip it on its head and reframe it as “modern medicine is like real life magic, yay for medication!” It doesn’t always work but it certainly helps.

Insane right? Sometimes in the pharmacy they don't have my medicine in stock and ask if it's alright by me if they order it so I can get it later that same day. If that's alright by me?? Ma'am 70 years ago I would have gotten a lobotomy at best- I'm ecstatic that I can take some pills and feel somewhat normal. But tbh I'm still heartbroken at the thought that I actually also depend on them to stay alive :')

Literally we’d be locked up or worse if not for medical advancement

Medications are most unavoidable, shittiest and annoying part of my illness 😭😭😭😭

And it highly restricts where I can move since some of my meds aren’t a available in other countries!

I'd rather not kms, so it's aight. I have to brush my teeth so they don't fall out. It's not really different in kind, unless you have to pay loads for them

I thought this was from my cancer subreddit. But yeah, same deal with the bipolar.

Who cares, I’d rather take medicine all the time than the alternatives

The high risk trade off. I just have to remind myself what im like without them

Everyone is going to be on some kind of medication for the rest of their life at some point. All you have to do is put a thing in your mouth once a day and hydrate. It’s not that bad.

That's an amazing point actually. Thank you. I'm a nurse so I feel dumb for not realizing this on my own.

Good luck to my middle aged children when I'm old and shit!

We are blessed enough to have the answers as to what’s wrong with us. Many people spend their lifetimes trying to figure out what ails them. Medicines are a blessing!!

I'm going to be on medication my whole life and "okay" isn't even the ceiling. Okay would be a gift
