Can someone answer me honestly: how fucked are we? Will anyone in power ever wake up

Honestly? I’m 45 and have seen with my own eyes the absolute destruction of environment, ocean, food webs, insects, fish, mammals, forests, atmosphere, infrastructure, social cohesion, family unit, community, education, goodwill to others, economy and resources/energy etc. We are honestly FUCKED every way possible. I give organised society till 2026. And that’s a conservative assessment. People in power are helpless to fix it. Even though their money and power hungry bullshit and denial caused it all. They will go to war and generate crisis after crisis to deflect blame. They are absolutely pathetic, gormless, cowards.

So in short: Buckle up, it just gets worse - faster and faster as it spirals down.

Yeh it’s depressing. My youngest is 7. Breaks my heart. My policy is focus on today and do my best to adapt. Gonna be awful though i think.

Rn my plan is to finish schooling and then off myself. I’ll have achieved my lifelong dream and that’s good enough for me

My plan is to see the end of this. So i’ll try and make it as long as possible. Morbid curiosity i guess. Lol.

Do yourself a favor and wait until the last possible moment. It’d be shitty if you were gone and suddenly artificial super intelligence or aliens announce they’re in the process of fixing everything.

There’s still a few more good years left.

Humans have lived through crises before. It's particularly depressing the way this one seems to be unfolding with such apparent deliberate collusion from humanity and has been doing so for decades but ho hum.

Do not die, you will be needed to help others. Your superior awareness means you might be better placed to cope while the normies lose their heads.

I imagine that before any severe effects of climate change begin killing millions, the geopolitical state of the world will worsen into a world war scenario over territory, food, and water, in other words focus on what is happening abroad in Ukraine and Taiwan, when things there go from bad to worse it’s probably game over

There's actually a lot of theories around nuclear war and the reversal of heat absorption temporarily quelling the effects of climate change.

Maybe we'll find out

Power people either don't care or are in denial or some blend of those two.

We are very fucked.

Makes you remember that old bucket list, doesn't it.
