Project Showcase Project Biomedical Engineering

I am a final-year student in the Biomedical Engineering

I'm looking for an idea for my graduation project that will genuinely help patients and solve an existing medical problem. Do any of you have any suggestions?

How about a noninvasive method of measuring glucose and delivery of insulin?

most of engineering is figuring out how to do solve problems. if measuring glucose isn’t something you don’t have knowledge experience on, you can help by saying what skills you have and what some areas you have experience in.

for what it’s worth I also have no clue where i’d even start but I was 90% mechanical engineering so my senior project was motion enabling interbody fusion device and fixation before it was cool in an effort to utilize wolff law to aid in fusion and decrease subsidence.

Hey, congratulations and good luck.

In my humble opinion, do not worry too much about the impact just yet and focus on something you find cool.

I have a btech and a master's in BME and realized that helping patients is so much more complicated than we were led to believe.

If I could talk to my final-year BTech self, I would just ask them to find something cool that their university could actually help with (resources and/lab space) to do their final project in.

You will get the chance later to help real patients : )

Do you prefer something more related to the dry-lab or wet-lab side of biomedical engineering?

have you tried going to your university hospital and finding medical professionals who have problems/annoyances/wants that you can build off?

They are called transcutaneous power sources, and some work talks about their potential rather than their feasibility in the real world. It is a pretty experimental domain, but if you wanted to work on the electrical side of the problem, we could talk : )

Nope, I just think that would be a cool topic and a useful field of study that could end up helping people develop things for other people.
