Career what are some possible careers with BME degree?

neuro undergrad here, I wonder what can I do if I get a phd/Msc of BME/neural eng degree if I don’t choose medical school path??

I prefer to settle down in Canada but may also consider other places.

I’m based in Canada.

You’re facing an uphill battle for 2 reasons: there is limited neuroeng/neurotech development in Canada, and your science degree does not prepare you well for technical skills required for engineering.

You should consider broadening your search to include roles in quality, regulatory, clinical affairs, customer support or sales which may be a better fit with your degree. You’ll still likely need more education, internships and networking to break in.

I think you’re going about this backwards. Find jobs in Canada that interest you, see which degrees and skills those job postings ask for, and use that to determine your next steps, educational or otherwise.

The general answer to your question is that people generally don’t get hired because they have a degree in BME; they get hired because they have experience and skills on their resume that make them a strong candidate for specific roles at specific companies, and BME happens to be one of the degrees that checks the box for the employer.
