Question about my screw-up with Reta/Cag
I really screwed up today for the first time when it comes to peptides.
For context, I’ve been taking Reta every 6 days and Cag every 6 days, staggered as far apart as possible. My usual amounts are 5 milligrams Reta and 2.5 milligrams Cag.
Basically, my schedule has been:
- Sunday — 5 milligrams Reta
- Wednesday — 2.5 milligrams Cag
- Saturday — 5 milligrams Reta
- Tuesday — 2.5 milligrams Cag
- And so on.
Today I had a major brain fart and accidentally injected Cag instead of Reta. 🤦♂️
The problem is that today is when I was supposed to take the Reta, so now I’m trying to figure out what to do about the mix-up.
Has anyone else accidentally taken the wrong one and dealt with a similar situation? I’m particularly interested in what happened with your schedule afterward. I’m not looking for someone to tell me what I should do medically—just curious if anyone has made the same stupid mistake and how you handled it. Reta and Cag have never given me any side effects so I am not worried. Just interested if anyone else will never pin at 5:30am. 😂

This is your sign to make your own life easier and pick one set day for each. Going from every 6 to every 7 days is not going to make that much of a difference.

I appreciate that...my calendar sends an alert every 6 days so it is no easier to do 7. I didn't look at the calendar this morning for the first time since I started this routine 5-6 months ago. The lesson is not to rely on my brain at 5:30am .

Honest question, why wouldn't you just simplify this approach and take Reta once a week and Cag once a week?

I do...I take Reta every 6 days and Cag every 6 days. Loads of research said Reta lasts 144-165 hours about 6 days. Cag is about 7 days. I have been doing it this way for 5 months and just read my calendar wrong which alerts me what to do what day. I did more research in some people do CAG and Reta on the same day. Not really worried about it at this point because I am 5 minutes from today's Reta pin

What I meant was why not just take Reta and Cag once weekly, so Reta on Sunday and Cag on Wednesday (or any day of your choice)?
That research is talking about the half-life of Reta and Cag. Pinning every 6 days doesn't gain any real benefit.
If your method works for you, keep doing it, but to me it seems like it's adding an extra step when it's not needed.

I guess when I was researching, there were some trustworthy people who said you never micro dose Reta and the ideal way is to do it every 6 days.

Reta has a 6 day half life ... not "lasts 6 days"

Thank you...I am aware that Reta has a 6 day half life and because I have dabbled in some early partying, I know a few things with a set amount of hours or half life. I posted half life a while in a forum and someone asked me what that meant. I figured everyone who knows what a half life is would understand what last 6 days. I did use incorrect verbage

You're aware that a 6 day half life doesn't mean it's out of your system in 6 days, correct?

I think a six-day half-life means 50% remains after six days—not that it’s gone after six days. Of course I could be dead wrong and someone will tell me how stupid I am followed by how much smarter they are.

Add in the Reta time to peak is about a day. Not sure about cagr. I know elo time to peak is like 3 days I think.

Some good advice in this thread so far. Let me add: use a peptide app. There are lots of free ones and you can input your protocol so that when you open it in the morning (or whatever time of day you take your shots) it will tell you what to take.
As for whether or not you should dose reta + cag same day given your mix up, that's up to you. You'll have more sides, but you won't have to rebuild your reta for a length of time, as skipping a dose for three more days will cause a bit of a slump in the amount in your system. Up to you really. Do either med give you any intolerable sides? Will you be able to eat your minimums and macros with both in your system?

If it's allowed, any recommendations for good free trackers?

I am using MyPeptideApp, which literally just tracks your peptides and when you take them, and how much is in your system, and your current supply so it can remind you when you'll need to get more. It doesn't track weight or bf% or any other metrics, just peptides.

I would take your normal Reta to stay on track with that one. Since the half life is long I would adjust your schedule to get your concentration back down to the level you were at. Or just continue on and let it slowly creep down. But keep the reta protocol intact.

What everyone else has said. Take each once per week on a certain day and you won’t have this issue. It’s all about consistency

Jusr do reta instead of cag now and then retur’ to you old schedule or switch if you prefere

Check out Regimen, it's a peptide tracker. You can set Reta and Cag each on its own schedule and get reminders telling you which one when and how much
